There should be a few random events where an army that is larger in proportion to the standard armies of looter, north man, etc, are set to attack a city or kingdom and word of it is sent to the player and they have the option to intervene as a defender or attacker, each with a large reward if repelled as well as a random high teir item of armor or weaponry. Make it difficult and requiring a large amount of men, allow to either defend at the city or pre-emptively attack the army before it arrives.
