At the Mountains of Madness

So, about a year ago, I found a movie was in planning on IMDB under the name "At the Mountains of Madness" and was to be directed by Guillermo del Toro. Of course, I got psyched. However, from what I've been able to gather, any funding it would have potentially had is gone since Hollywood has no faith in a Lovecraftian movie. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

Oh my god! I knew it was about lovecraft when I saw the title, but a movie? By Guillermo Del Toro ? I'll see what I can find out!

Edit: Figures, we probably won't be seeing anything of it until... around 2015.

Haha...

I also have read that Alien Vs. Predator was supposed to be extremely loosely based on At the Mountains of Madness... I donno though...

don't know about that movie, sorry. if you like lovecraft, you might also be interested in this: http://www.cthulhulives.org/cocmovie/trailer.html it's a good one too

I know that Del Toro has the script and has had a lot of the pre-production work done out of his own pocket. It's his pet project.
He was planning to do it after Hellboy 2, but then the Hobbit came along, so it was shelved again for the time-being.

I really really hope he can get the time and funding to do it. I'm not sure I can think of anyone better to make it.

Cluthulu is a lesser known Great Old One whose nefarious influence causes dyslexia in those sensitive. He also moonlights on weekends as a traditional Dutch pudding involving jam, usually served with ice cream.
