Astigmatism or no server?

I can't see an AOFI server again.

This scares me a little bit, a mod which has no persistant server will never grow its player base!

What happened to the old NA_AOFI server anyways? This server was always my first choice!

X server is a good server as well, but I beleive it is being used for multiple purposes, it would be nice to have a predictable AOFI server up at all times...

NA_AOFI was shred's server hosted by jestservers.com, so it cost monies, and when X_Server came up, there didn't seem to be much of a reason to keep his up.

I could host a server with jestservers, and it would be dedicated to AoFI, but I don't have limitless money (still looking for a job right now...) so I would need some donations to keep it up.

If the server slots would cost 0.50$ per slot, I'd consider renting a server. But 1$ per slot is just insane.

That's the reason. The admins are serious about that. Also, IIRC, the mute thing wasn't that far back.

Also, I cant even see X. Wonder why it want down.

We don't control the server. SPQR does. We can't control if it's up or down, you have to defer to him.

I see, unfortunately I'm in a bit of monetary madness myself at the moment, I've recently moved to Germany and am living off the state (supposedly, mostly not) until I have completed my sprachkurs in February. So no job until then and no money as well.

So March of next year I'd be willing to stick a server up! Donations historically fail so I don't put much hope into that idea.

In other words no predictable server...unless someone with a job (they do exist!?) decides to take the hit.

Nevermind, I spoke too soon, I just saw that NA_AOFI is back up and running, Shredzorz took the hit again. A big thank you for that Shred!

Still....no point or better, its impossible to build a community with only one server and that server is around 200-300ms ping to european players. But as you said, it is hard to find someone to get " his hands dirty" or shall I say  empty the hands?  to host servers.

My bad.. I was away for a bit.. that was strange about the server.. it is back up as of 5 min ago.
