Why do they even bother anymore, those guys should be making James Bond games and stop trying to pretend it has anything to do with history.

They still do pretend its to do with history?

I always thought it as a sci-fi/fantasy game set in a) the future and b) whatever random historical period they could think of.

Yeah. Hell, the Items of Eden existed already in the first game.

Why must all AAA video game internet discussions turn into circlejerks anyway? It is getting really old.

Inb4 some moron calls me stupid again.

Complaining that AC gear isn't historically accurate first now.  If it was realistic, the Assassin's inventory in the first game would consist of : A dagger and a sword. (Along with some personal belongings.)

Which is almost exactly what his inventory consisted of, excepting the hidden blade which was (in my opinion) a forgivable deviation from the historical norm.

Eh, yeah. I actually enjoyed the first game most of the ones I played even though it was horribly repetitive and full of boring missions. There were some cool assassinations though.

I might get this one. Sure it's AssCreed, but the setting is cool and the soundtrack sounds awesome.

@Hidden blades: My friend actually managed to make a (almost) working one. He could flick his wrist and make it shoot out, but he had to manually push it in in order to retract it.

I too too enjoyed the first one most of all. The setting was the best, the story wasn't convoluted as all get out, and it was something novel at the time. Oddly enough, I think the lack of features actually helped it a lot. It was just go around and assassinate these dudes, not go around and stab some people on your way to hunt your next whale or some ****.

Here's what I don't get. How can you enjoy the setting of an AssCreed game when they constantly pull you out for their ridiculous modern day plot? Not to mention the futuristic menus and the most obnoxious in-game indicators of all time.

It was impossible for me to enjoy the setting of Unity because Arno turns blue when he walks into a crowd and leaves holographic images when he escapes pursuers. I quit playing after I encountered a massive blue forcefield in the middle of Paris.

......Why did you even buy the game when you probably knew there are tons of sci-fi in the series???????

There always has been, and it always will be.

He doesn't indicate he knew that before buying the game. Hell, at least the first game was marketed as "based on historical events"-jumbo. Can't really speak for Rigadoon, but I'm pretty sure he won't be buying another installment of the series based on the experiences he just described to you.

It was a gift.  I'm not criticizing the game for not being what I expected. I'm criticizing it for the stupid design decisions.

Well, Jade Raymond left the developer team and now she's working for EA. Secound, Quebec studio is on the lead now. So, there's kind of stuff change. I wonder that will it be positive or negative for the game.

Honestly I'd rather have an HD reboot of AssBead I with updated gameplay and some side activities, I can't bring myself to play it again because the gameplay isn't all that great. I loved a lot of the characters in that game, like that Hospitaller who tortured people and had some depth to him. The people you killed were all interesting, I can't remember most any of the people from Brotherhood besides the ****ing Borgias.

Huh, I had a friend who did the same thing...
