An assassination mechanic would be a great addition to the game. Currently, in Bannerlord the only way to kill a Lord is through battle, (which is based on chance more than anything) and that of executions. There should be a third system that allows for another way to kill other heroes (albeit expensive in cost and goods to balance things out) that allows Lords to also be killed and allow a Lord to maintain a visage of honor.
Contacting one of these groups and hiring them (through the trade screen) to take out a various lord or trader. This would allow Lords to be taken off the field without execution and a chance for clans to be cut off secretly. Otherwise, kingdoms are able to resurge and reclaim everything without the player being able to do much without resorting to executions.
How this would work is that the player would approach a character in the back alley or docks and ask them for "removal services" or something along those lines. The player would probably have to convince the thug to get him into contact with an assassin (if the group is not already associated with the Lord). The player would then be directed to another NPC in a Tavern or other alley who you could then use the trade screen to hire to take out a certain Lord. The proposition would show up as a menu option as a trade item and then you would give money or goods until the trade is accepted.
Another extension of this is the ability for NPC lords to also got through this process. The NPC Lords could also hire assassins to take out a Lord (based on relation and power most likely) and send an assassin to kill that Lord or perhaps the children of that Lord or another clan member. The player could also be subject to assassinations and it could create scenarios where when the assassins catch up to the party the assassin could be hunting you in a war camp or in the middle of town. The cost of assassination would be based on the tier of the clan and the power of the Lord.
The idea of the assassination would also be that there is only a chance of the attempt succeeding. You could injure the Lord and keep him out of the battle for a day or two or outright kill him. A chance of success could get given based on the Assassin hired and the target's level.
