Arrows vs armor

Right now in beta 1.4, Javelins are completely ignoring armor now (a low-grade javeline 1-hit KOs with 70-120 damage no matter where they hit). If arrows are doing the same, it seems piercing damage got changed somehow to completely ignore armor when it was already OP before.

The problem in my opinion if there is one (not even sure about that) might be how damage is calculated for range weapon related to projectile velocity, not really about armor type or value.

I'm ok getting OS early game by a javelin thrown in the head, i'm less ok getting OS by a javelin on my foot because i'm just max speed on horse.
So if there is some tweek to be made it should be related to that

the armor and damage system is just bad. different armors should have different values against these, instead they just pass through seemingly unmodified. also most of these weapons should be doing split damage, axes being the obvious one here. the system is just too simplistic to make sense atm.

Of course different arrows should do different type of damage. Standard flesh-cutter head is devastating against unarmored and is also good against padded armor. Be it arrows or bolts, doesn't matter. Against chainmail you need bodkin points, which can pierce to some degree. However they do less damage against unarmored/gambeson.

Against thick plate armor parts all kinds of arrows should just bounce. But anyway there are gaps, we don't have 15th century full plate, so the rain of arrows still would be dangerous.

Do check the video and kinetic energy on those bolts.
