Umm, i just walked into my castle at praven and went up to my sergeant, one of the options was Arrest this man immediately!  But there was no action to take after that, what is that all about?

It doesnt do nothing, just an unfinished thing it seems. Maybe they decided not to put the feature in the last second but forgot to remove the dialogue option?

there was a mod this function worked for, but i can't remember the name, my brother is making one where if lords relations of your own kingdom are below 0, you can have them arrested and executed for treason.

It has no functions but at least once I wished they would throw out that enemy lord that was lurking in my castle
I had to wait for weeks until he left (last lord to fight before the rebellion could succeed)

Hopefully in Warband they address the seemingly "unfinished" business. I've noticed that Lords in your faction who aren't fond of you, won't let you into their castle so maybe this is what that feature is for. To arrest or kick our Lords you're not on good terms with.

And perhaps the political side of the game is going to be fleshed out more.  ie if you arrest a lord who you ARE on good terms, your fellow lords will question your sanity, perhaps revoking your fief?
