Armagan, is there any way to include magic in the game? I was trying to make a mod where it would be essential and now I don't know if it's possible I won't continue. I have seen your new 'fire-arms' skill in the latest version. But it has no 'props'/weapons for it yet. Could this be used to shoot simple balls of fire (or things like that)?

The problem I can see is that you would have to have a new hands model (like you're holding a weapon but without a weapon in your hand and your hands in a different position).

Another type of magic I need is a kind of electric charge like lightning. It would be a 'projectile' to 'stretches out' as you shoot it (so in the end it connects you with your enemy) and wouldn't have a target. It would go towards the target and split up into several 'projectiles' to hit several targets if a lot of enemies are close together. This seems too difficult to implement though...

So do you think it could be done? How much work would have to go into it?
 
no.... just no.... this game is supposed to be realistic.... no magic, no dragons, no crap like that. just a realistic game of the middle ages era. If you want magic go play wow or runescape or something gai like that

He just wants the ****ing animation added so he can mod the magic into the game. He isn't asking any to be added to the main game.

Ghaahhaha... God, i have turned into a forum regular visitor. To the type who flips when he sees the word 'magic' and completely ignores the whole post and answers the post without any knowledge.

I stand corrected.
Maybe there is some hope for me..

This effect could also be used to make a shotgun, blunderbuss or what have you.

hey dude, basically what you're asking is a way to add our own animations, right ?

that seems like an important thing for mods to me, can't imagine how mods would work without that.
 
Just change the damage, name, skin and icon for stones into fireballs. Razz

Problem would be that you'd have a 'static' fire ball. I want it to look like it's alive (like a real flame).

Also the way you throw stones wouldn't be the same way. A fireball you'd launch by putting your hands in front of you and 'pushing' them the way you want them to go. Stones you throw 'overarm'.
 
Sheek, what about mana/memorizing the spells, magical weapons, etc ??
do you think you'll encounter a famliar problem with those too ?
 
Can't imagine why a fireball couldn't be "thrown" like a stone.... But I suppose if you are dead set on a Street Fighter-like push, that's your opinion.

You 'buy' the fireballs in a shop and they have a limited amount of 'ammo'. That's your mana - you can launch seven fireballs in a battle. After a battle you regenerate your 'mana'.

Actually I am not going to let player characters have magic. The magic is only for the bad guys.
 
ah nice idea with the replenishing thing, maybe you could even have the fireballs require intelligence (like swords require strength), good luck with your mod :smile:
 
Good idea.

The mod is a long way off. As well as magic I need a map, explosions, completely new skeletons and textures. If it's too difficult I won't go ahead with it yet.
 
And you could change javelins into lightning bolts too.

If you don't want it to look static you have to give it an animation. But that's above my head.
 
Sheek: Sorry. I don't think I'll have the time to add support for fireballs and such in the foreseeble future. Maybe after I finish doing all the other stuff first.

Man that's one cool idea -though about tweaking/adding animation i thought it isn't supporting via mods, no ?
