I am very excited about the mod tools and I was wondering if you'd be willing to release some documents on the file types and such so that some of the developers around the forum could write some of the mod tools for you. Save a bit of time and all.

Thanks for your offer. 
The mod tools are actually nothing other than python scripts themselves. The reason I am not releasing them is because I'd like to finalize the data structures and such so that once the mod tools are released and players start to develop content they will not need to make changes with every new version. So you'll need to wait until I make all the necessary changes to the game engine.
