In Progress Arena - lancers has bad targeting

Lancers on horseback aim the legs of their mounted opponents or the horse, roughly that area. When they lose their horses they aim well both foot and mounted enemies. Maybe they don't realize their opponent is mounted and aim the place where the head of a foot spearman would be. Just a guess.
This might be the same on the battlefield, I don't know as I have more experience in the arena and more time to watch battles where I'm not participating.
