And, if you do play other mods, which ones do you enjoy the most? For myself, i'll try various ones out occassionally, but so far enjoy Pendor the most. I think Custom Settlements has the potential to be an AWESOME mod, or atleast mod base. I would love to see something where time has basically been turned back, and everyone is just starting as a faction, and all of the non king lords are wandering mercs. You have the option at chargen to either be a noble, and thus starting with a fief, like a king, or being one of the mercs.

I do not think this board is appropriate for a thread such as this, discussing and promoting other mods. Clearly, the name says "Prophesy of Pendor" , not "General all-round chat".

Ofcourse it is abyss, i'm looking for the opinions of a specific set of mount and blade players, those specifically that play PoP as their "primary" mod.

As of right now it's my primary mod im not sure which will be my primary after chaos war 0.7 comes out. This mod is excellent dont get me wrong but it lacks some things which will be added into chaos war mod 0.7. The only mod's i play at the time is PoP chaos war and the song of taliesin which are all really good mods. Song of taliesin lacks some improvements here and there but besides that overall great mod. PoP is strong in the area of fantasy which is what caught my attention since i love fantasy movies and games. However i do believe it would be a better mod if designed a bit harder. The main thing it lacks would be new siege scenes for towns and castles. It gets boring with the whole 3 step siege scene as always its time for something more challenging and new which is why im waiting for 0.7 to come out in chaos war because not only are lords extremely powerful but the towns will be impossible to take without a gigantic army of high tier troops. The other thing PoP needs is more and newer quests. Besides all of that PoP is an excellent mod and many thanks to all those who contributed to the creation of this great module.

I freaking hate Song of Taliesin. I've tried to start four different characters, with four different backgrounds. None of them had the resources to get started, since their version of looters can demolish an equally sized force of starting troops, and you start with enough gold and goods to recruit about five, which is half the size of the standard looter party. Also, looters gang up on you, along with all other parties I've discovered on the map, making getting started in Song of Taliesin harder than getting started in Prophesy of Pendor.

Having indecipherable names for everything and everyone in the game only makes recruiting an army and choosing an allegiance harder.

I want to like it, since I like the time period, and a lot of the gear. It's just impossible.

JA2: Urban Chaos.
MnB: Hundred Years War, NE and 80 Years of Benelux war (this one might become a real pearl once it´s finished)

So far been playing aside from PoP mostly Wedding Dance and Eagle and Radiant Cross. PoP is the most polished mod as I've also tried a few others and I get bothered by unfinished aspects. Don't want to start a new game every time update comes out. There are some very cool ideas out there for how to do things though and while I think PoP is the mod which feels most complete and large you'd miss out if you don't try a few others. I'm waiting for Hegemony to be complete for 1.04 and Custom Settlements to get a bit more polished.

I played Native Expansion for a long time before PoP was around. Since then, my time spent with NE has waned (no significant updates in months) and PoP has increased. I've tried out a couple others, but as mentioned, most of them lack a feel of being finished, or include stuff I hate, like permanent death.

I've also played Sword of Damocles, which I greatly enjoyed for how much it built on the kingdom management code.  However, other than the kingdom you control and The Empire invasion, it's still the same old Calradia you're fighting in.  The backstory/knighthood orders/minor spawns all make PoP my favorite.

Yes I really get bored quickly with mods that just basically rename the map or try too hard to be *tough* and end up just plain annoying. Its why I love PoP, its ballanced so that any level character can play and hard yet challenging when it needs be, of course any game can be made easy once you learn the ropes of how thing are done which is why I ignore compaints of people who've played too long and know all the tricks. I remember my first days of Pendor, I was freaking lost and afraid to go anywhere because I couldn't tell who was going to be easy or who would eat me in a heart beat or why there was a big empty forest. I tried to chase down some adventurers because I though a) I could talk to them or b) they'd be easy to beat. It wasn't until I spent four days fighting in the arena to get Siggy to join me that my adventures took flight. Those were the days.

I love this mod its really hard and different from others. I keep getting spanked by Outlaws on the map thinking that i can solo them... think again lol...

my top 5 favorite Mods are:
1- Sword of Damocles: so many features with so few bugs... yes it is still the old calradia Lore but to a very unique micromanaging extent (especially with the upcoming release)
2- WW2 China BAttlefield: I love the crafting system, also the gameplay is very hard you often have to take lots of ennemies on your own at the beginning to get your units upgraded.
3- Prophecy of Pendor: its just a unique mod, a little jewel in my Mods box... add a couple hundred quests and you will sucessfully beat The Elder Scrolls
4- Fire Arrow: '''hahahahahaha how do you feel now King Graveth!! your ladder is on fire muhauahuahahaha''' needless to say more xD
5- Custom Settlements: A tad boring at the beginning but once you manage to put a couple houses in the empty scenes you can have a very satisfying Kingdom on your hands... just nothing to conquer lol...

Mods that I keep but play less often: The Eagle and the Wolves, Age of Blackpowder, 1866, Europe 1200, hundred years war

I have tried a dozen mods, some of them only for a few (ingame) months or so and others I never stopped playing, like PoP. A completely new map with good factions, fine items and superb minor factions. The little secrets like the qualis gems are the cherries on the cake(eventhough they are blue  )
I played both Native expansion and Sword of Damocles and liked them, but they did not go far enough for me. The Hundred years war mod on the other end, is a really good one. Too bad it has only two factions(for now), if they sign a peacetreaty you have to start your own little private war with them or just remain inactive and fight some bandits.

I have played a lot of Wedding Dance, as well as Prophesy of Pendor.  Rosha has done some brilliant work in Wedding Dance - cutscenes, a good plotline, masses of new armor and other gear, when you build an improvement in one of your villages and go there you can actually SEE the new building - he did that in 90 villages.  He also has bar fights, taught the AI to dance, introduced jousting and catapults, put all sorts of critters in the villages, many other things.

Admitted bias: I worked on Wedding Dance and Prophesy of Pendor, and love them both.

custom settlements is good. but, its way too slow in the beginning. and there are some unfinished parts (empty settlements on the map).

if its expanded it can be a mega mod.

also it still doesnt have sieges, despite the siege has to be an integral part of the game. (whats the point of upgrading fortifications if all it is going to bring will be weapon and armor merchants in 2 levels ...)

also there are still missing clothing, like 20% of the bandits being half naked etc. and items seem to be a little on the low end, or you cant get access to them.

.......................................

lords and realms is good. its rather made to be too tough tho. still plays well.

I play Pendor and the Damocles mod.

Pendor has a great story and very rich environment, but is a little bit frustrating on the kingdom management side. Quite a number of things need to be improved to satisfy the budding monarch.

Damocles is a bit bland, but has great kingdom management.

Merging the two would be win-win.
