"Fight on the battlefields of one of the most accurate and detailed Napoleonic war games ever!"

i want to know if there are bashkirs/kalmyks or any form of cossack horse archer in this DLC.

here's evidence of them in the napoleonic wars.

History Repeats

From your thread in the MM forums 说:
wondering if these were ever considered of being implemented into russia forces? they were indeed used during the napoleonic wars. as a horse archer/lancer unit (low unit count, low stats and cheap)?  it would be interesting i think to use them as irregular cavalry.

Now, maybe this would be a nice replacement for the russian cossacks? Taken that they Russia now has their own lancer unit, I would like some more irregular irregular cavalry.

However on the matter of cossacks and other cossack-like folk.

I think the garde cossacks would be  a more viable prospect.

I think that, with the numbers that NW supports, the addition of a fast firing range cavalry unit would destabilize the game.

Anyway, I think if anyone gets new cav, it should be the British (a lancer unit). The Russians just got a new unit while the British only have three.

No please, no. Those are basically dragoons, with arrows, no need plus they create a weird unbalance for which ever faction (Russia most likely) they fight for. Russia will be worse off, arrow after arrow into the bodies of clueless enemies.

Im not sure but did the british have lancers in the Napoleonic Wars?

Apparently not. According to This site, they were the only army not to feature lancers in the Napoleonic Wars, and would not adopt them until the Crimean War.

The Brittish used Brunswick Hussars and Uhlans, So they did have lancers, just foreign lancers.

Nope, the brunswick Uhlah squadron wasn't raised until 1815.

which was late Napoleonic Wars, the era for this game.

I would much rather see the British get a hussar unit. (15th Hussars, perhaps?)

And honestly, as has been stated, horse archers would be like the current Russian dragoons, except they could fire many times faster.

Would be neat to see Napoleonic soldiers full of arrows in the old Warband fashion though.
