Anyone else notice archers literally dont fire unless the enemy is 6ft in front of them like 90% of the time? The other 10% they are launching those arrows across the map.....What gives?


There is also a highly strict LoS system.
If you do not abide by it archers will not fire at all.

I actually think it would be really cool if they actually made night battles real night battles.Simple fix; Remove the night time range reduction.
Workaround; Fight during the day.
Easy exploit; Fight ranged armies at night with javelin infantry.

thats not a problem to be fixed , its a feature , as you said yourself , on the "exploit" part , its just a strategy . the same way you bring alot of archers to fight an army with mounted archers.Simple fix; Remove the night time range reduction.

Especially when the night time reduction is applied even when it's not midnight.
I wouldn't have a problem with it if it only reduced the range during like 8 pm to 4 am, but as of right now, it seems to be 6pm to 8 am and it's 50% of the entire day you cannot use archers in ANY battles.
I would suggest moving the times around, and making the reduction not as big as it is now. Right now they sometimes don't even shoot in throwing weapons range.
