I'm running version 0.550 with no patches and am competley addicticed to this mod, which improves the game tenfold if you ask me. However, i am a noob at it :smile:

Basically, I created my own kingdom and have taken all the Vaegir cities and own most of their castles, the Rhodoks took a few, accept the capital and Dramug castle which have yet to fall. I have taken the capital before, and know it's best to get a lot of caviliers and king's beserkers and just accept the losses from them damn Ivory Guards  :sad:

However, my economy is basically around 50k at all times, and an expensive army is not easily upkept. This also means i can't afford Ivory temple/archers to dominate in the archer field.
Secondly, i am also at war with the Nords, how do i take a town garrisoned with too many Eijenhars? Is archers the key? If so how many and of what type, given what orders?

Edit: I also attempted to re-name my faction as per the instructions in the beginners guide, but it has had no affect. Please help as i can not have a Kingdom without it being called England!  :eek:

Whatever the highest peasant archer is. You can use Skalds or Ranger or with the newest patch you might try the Marksmen too. Mix in some Arbalestiers and you're set. As for how many... plenty? If you have 40 ranged units (crossbow and archer) that should be more than enough.
Archers are the key. To every siege  :wink:
Just 1 -> F1, wait till they're out of ammo or the enemy's thinned out enough for your taste, 2 -> F3
Done.
Or retreat after your men are out of ammo and siege again if the enemy's still too strong for a charge. But that shouldn't be a problem with enough archers

Select the option "Kingdom Management" (or something similar) in one of your cities/your capital (not sure right if it has to be the capital, but a city non the less). It's self explanatory.

And why are you using .550? It has a nasty bug were you might get cloned and stand there invincible on the battlefield. Or was that .570?
Whatever there's a brand new patch.

I just used 30 Marksman and 10 Arbalestiers then my normal army and it worked a treat on the Vaegirs.
I have a shiny crown now, so thank you :smile:

Well that was rather simple, on the sticky it mentions editing the the text files, (which didn't work) and sounds rather daunting.

So, if i'm reading the forum right, i should keep my saves if i download the first two links below the massive red text on this thread?

You should download .550, like you did, then the .582 patch and the SiegeAdd-on.
This will make the sallet helmet a lot prettier, so install it.  :wink:
There should be a read-me in the .zip.

The link to the texture pack is a bit misleading. It's not actually a pack to install, but a pack to be used later on by the team. So you might as well ignore it for now.
