Plenty of points in Power Draw, along with high proficiency. Either Khergit or Bodkin arrows, and a good bow. You want the Power Draw requirement of your bow to be less than your total number of points in PD, otherwise you will be barely strong enough to use it. You also gain a damage bonus for up to 4 points of Power Draw above the minimum of the bow.

Weapon choices are mostly preference, but the easiest and most versatile would be a 1H sword and a shield. As for armor, get the best you can afford, and don't stop upgrading.

So single hand is more versatile guess i could go ax and shield and focus most of my points into power draw and strength and iron flesh so my combat skills are higher. What other skills should i focus on for money amd stuff or is being a merc the better option at the beginning

Mercenary work is fine, but don't do it until you have some companions and decent equipment. You don't need a huge army for something like that, but you will need quality soldiers, not recruits.

When I'm early game, I prefer to make money, fame, and friends by running trade routes, destroying bandit hideouts for lords, winning tourneys, and completing quests when they aren't inconvenient.

I think these guides will help you, the game mechanics can be very obtuse for new players.

Ill check those out thanks and yeah this game is really confusing if you dont have a plan or a clue lol you end up like me getting slaughtered every 10 mins lol

Okay one more question then Ill leave you guys be, is two handed swords really the best way to go, i see so many people say a two handed weapon is like a nuke in the game but i know that armor and shield cam be a problem for swords what is your guys opinion i plan on a 1h and sword build but im a little concered what ill need to kill swadian knights or the other heavy armored varients in the game.

With high proficiency and some points in Power Strike, you can murder anything you want in a couple hits with most weapons. Two handed weapons are nice, but you have to be really good at blocking, otherwise you will get killed very easily. Autoblocking can take care of that, but projectiles are also a major concern, because shields are the only thing that can stop them. You can go without them if you like, but I really don't recommend it for new players.

Vary True guess i didnt think that one through all the way, well I will review the stuff you sent my way and keep you guys updated if i need anymore help or advise. Figured real people would be better than wikis lol thanks again guys

Once u practice with 2h hard to go back.  Against every shield user you always left swing as they attack, they cannot swing at your left because of shield being held, they raise sword arm and you left swing beneath, your right swing will always be blocked by their shield.  So u only need left swing and chop, and you will not use right block much.  The Great War axe with 120 reach u can slaughter like 10 Npc infantry rushing you, as long as you have somewhere to  back peddle to, and your shield will most likely break when u get rushed leaving you to manual black anyway. The 112 reach military scythe shortened is also great because great axe can't be swung from horseback it acts like a pike there which I find swings are much easier to hit with from horseback than jousting is.

I carry shield on back for when I have to run away there arrows hit the shield but I never use it for cqc also learning to work the dpad commands is a must, you can take on enemies 3x your size and cut your casualty rate by a huge factor, basically keeping your infantry line in front of archers and flanking with cav, the default opening charge will cost you a lot of casualties even vs army 1/2 your size

I noticed that the other day alot of the other lords use the scyth as a weapon and it seems to kick ass! And im still learning on the two handed sword but my bow skills are getting a bit better lol I restarted my character and am focusing on getting a few buissness built up to support an army better than what i have been doing. And i cant seem to find a group to join that i really click with which is kinda a bummer but I am checking around

It's like a random story generator just st let it play out like I was busting my ass for sanjar khan and he didn't appreciate **** and when I first started I f'ed up by just attacking stuff without any reason so I joined with his claimant and we ended up the enemy of every faction I was then forced to abandon him which was kinda dramatic to join the nords b4 they too finally declared war on.  I felt patronized by the king and I reluctantly lent him my female companions who were returned with hickies on their necks, but soon after thAt he gives me 4 castles.  I was about to give up and restart now I'm on a quest to defend one with sea raiders who are actually kinda badass if commanded and cheaper than nord vet they dress like

It's best to cleanse your army of overpriced generic mercs you hire on taverns especially hired blade he seems to die a lot, they all expect higher pay than faction mercs, and seem to be not as good, I think the slaver chiefs are ok tho especially if your on a slaving  run  they are blunt cav.  The generic mercs and peasants are good to get started with but should be phased out asap

So now the king doesn't approve of my marriage to afrid but that hasn't stopped him for standing beside her for 2 months now in my castle.  But he does command 400+ men who are garrisoned so I guess the kings "friendship" with my wife is ok

Lol The nords are fricken awsome they did a good job making them a violent hack and slash group to play with lol they love when u take hostages and pillage and kill lol my favorite things to do lol i should join them amd try and get a wife and a few buisness set up there. They seem to match my playstyle better than rhodocks do way more blood and guts and stuff. On a side note how do you hire the sea raiders to fight for you didnt know you could do that

You capture them as prisoner then you camp and select ask them to join, you will take a morale hit but killing more raises it back up.  I've had them defect but it's rare.  If y choose to upgrade them they become a nord recruit.  Other raiders become swad or Rhod.  I like nord infantry but I mix in some seargents and sarid archers and rhod or swad crossbows, a mix of factions you become versatile, there is a complex scissor rock paper you can study in custom battles, I saw nord archers act as infantry but got slaughtered by something else.  The sarid archers tore up the crossbows but the crossbows can stop cav and the rhod spear men also good vs cav and of course the swad knight is beast but expensive.  My wife is worthless right now. We had some feasts that wer bombs no one showed up except the king to talk **** about our marriage

Yea starting out is really ruff I got captured many times but now I'm actually trying to kill off troops in a productive way because I'm over budget.  You finally break thru a wall of difficulty when u get in good with a king that gives you castles, not sure how I triggered it but my renown is like 700

Also find a low lev intelligent follower to raise tactics I didn't know this for a long time, it decides how many troops spawn in your favor

Got anouther question im having issues killing heavily armored troops in hand to hand combat what weapons can u guys recommend to tear them up please keep in mine Im currantly using 1hand weapons thanks
