Will Swadia Knights and lower level Cavalry upgrade from Swadia Recruits and Tribesmen i recruit in villages?

You can get Swadian Knights from Swadian recruits yes. Just pick the Man-at-arms option when it arises.

recruit - militia - footman - men at arms - knight

every faction unit in native can be trained from that faction recruit. Rhodok tribesmen or farmers will never become swadian knights

What I recommend is that, in addition to knowing how to raise Swadian Knights, you should raise many of them all at once.

Whenever you have the chance of upgrading your Swadian recruits, make them Man-at-Arms so that they become Swadian Knights.
As a result, you will have about 40 to 50 of them.
After that, raise about 40 to 50 Swadian Sharpshooters, because you need a blend of soldiers who can cover the knights and you during battle.
In terms of infantry, it would be great to raise up to 40 Hired Blades. Usually, this combination provides you with great victories. Also, there are hardly any casualties unless you are vastly outnumbered.

as posted many times before, it is easier to raise a group to the next tier than a single unit

and i'd take nord huscarls over hired blade

No kidding.  Why is that?  How big would the group have to be in order to get to the next tier faster?  Is a group of 10 faster than a group of 2?  20 faster than 10?  I thought it was all about your training skill.

Thankyou for the replies... now seeing as how i'm a huge newb... where and how is the best place to get Recruits, not tribesmen? I've only seen a few, and i can't remember how i got them... think they got killed off.

Go to the swadian's villages. If you love swadian knight, meet their vilage elders and do their quest. That will increase your relation to the village, and it means more recruits for you.

each village gets you recruits (or tribesmen) from the faction it originally belonged to. Higher relations will mean more recruits, or even recruits that have 1 promotion already

negative relations with a village means no recruits, even if it is just -1

The fastest way to get high level men is through freeing prisoners when you defeat a lord, but you need to be fairly formidable in your own right in order for this to happen.

And you can't always be sure what you'll get.

So.... by freeing prisoners after i've taken them captive? They will ask to join me after that?

you can do that. But chances are very few will join you. Sometimes none.
OR...
when you win a war there could be ''rescued prispners'' which you can take. They will be a mix of high mid and low tier troops. You wont get these from every single battle you win though...

I've encountered the rescured troops plenty, but i always sell my prisoners. I could try that...

Just raise Swadian Knights, win a few battles, fight bandits if you have to. Bandits do not have the armor that a regular faction has. They lack leadership and size.

Towns/Castles usually have many high level prisoners, especially ones that just survive from a siege battle.
