That might create a decent uproar, though I imagine most people will see through it.

Maybe if you could convince Winter to post a news item on MBX stating that it was closing down and moving to the official forum too.
Alternatively, why not (temporarily) change the Off Topic folder to a link folder, linking back to the main forum index?
Another possibly amusing one would be to create a joke Admin folder, and accidently 'reveal' the contents to the rest of the board. Of course, we then have to come up with some amusing stuff to put in there (like making it look like Pavlov secretley owns the board or something)...

A list of "trouble makers" and people the admins cannot tolerate (maybe not, might hurt someones feelings)

1. We switch our nicks around, so LL becomes Deus, Deus becomes Janus, Janus becomes me and Narc becomes LL. Could be funny.
2. As above, but we trade names with some of the regular users (we'd need to let them in on it though). We then come up with some elaborate story about Armagan replacing all of the admins. Could have hilarious results, assuming we can count on the forum user's who's names we're borrowing to keep schtum.

Heh, good stuff. Of course, the dates would all be recent for those posts and there would be other signs it was a ruse (very few posts as well), but still sounds cool.
As for making it seem like the admin team is replaced by a few other regular users, that's also a good idea. It would take a little bit of work though. I could add in a new user group "Administrator" with the banner which actually doesn't grant any privileges which would be set for the "new admins", then switch us to regular users with the Admin powers set as a secondary group for us (so we don't actually lose our powers but end up looking like regular users).
That would seriously freak out some people I bet.

I figured it would be easier to just change the forum nick on our profile settings. That way we don't actually swap accounts at all. As long as we switch one nick out so the forum doesn't return a 'used' status when trying to change it should work.

If we just change names around, the admin status will remain the same as will the avatar and other profile stuff. Much better to have it look like the admins have been demoted and replaced by others and it won't be that much trouble.Archonsod said:

So, who should we have for the two new admins? I nominate calandale as one of them. I would say Jerky, but I'm more concerned s/he might spill the beans.
EDIT: as for changing the dates, it's possible by going into the database and hunting down the particular thread to modify the date, but probably not worth the effort of digging around in there. It also could cause some time discrepancies.
Oh well.

I still think it would be better to nominate five or six people and then have the forum vote between them. That would give the 'perfect' place for the 'demoted' admins to rant and rave and have a bit o' fun.
