Summary: Hi! I decided to redownload the game after not having played it for a few years. I made a clean install and was originally able to start the game; I got to the main menu from the launcher but there were no options on the screen other than "options" and "exit game." I found that none of the modules were selected in the launcher screen including all of the native ones that usually are default selected. I hand selected these and tried to start the game again from the launcher. It gets as far as the main loading screen with the picture of the guy scowling in the snow only to freeze-up with the aforementioned "application faced a problem" error screen. Uploading the files using this error dialog does not work either.

I proceeded to uninstall and reinstall the game 3 more times to no avail. I went through the trouble of searching through all of the files on my computer and deleted any residual files left after I uninstalled from Steam as suggested on other threads. This included files in Documents, Program Files, AppData, and even some ModOrganizer stuff that was left over from years ago. I even deleted specific files from within the install directory as suggested on some other threads and attempted to use Steam's "verify game file integrity" function to reinstall these elements; all ended with the same error message. I re-installed the Microsoft redistributable files and even made sure my GPU drivers and such were up to date much to the same unfortunate end.

I have no idea how to fix the game any further and any insight would be very appreciated! Thanks.

Missing Menu Buttons

If some of the buttons on the main menu are missing, you can try the workaround below to fix it:
  • Delete the “LauncherData.xml” file located at “C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Documents\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord\Configs". The game will create a new one when launching.
  • Please make sure that the the official modules are selected in the Launcher / Modules page.
