I dont know if Russians and English were content or not (i highly doubt it anyway) but the last war between them was in 1856 and it didnt have any aspects of fair play so it really doesnt have anything to do with this.

There was a small discussion on the Crimean War, but that had nothing to do with the ANZACs except the Russians also fought the Turks.
