Here is something odd, Lords banners often are contradictory to themselves.
Boyar Gastya of the Vaegirs, a faction known for its horses and bowmen. His banner is a crossbow.
One less obvious one is Count Beranz's banner. It is a pair of axes despite him being a Swadian.
Same with Count Gharmall who has a single axe as his banner despite being a Rhodok.
Count Tribidian, another Rhodok has a banner of horseshoes. Perhaps his noble family are well known for their love of the game.
Emir Ayman, a Sarranid lord who lives in the desert has a banner of a boat!
Jarl Olaf, like Gastya, has a crossbow on his banner.
Now, I don't expect a back story on why every noble has their own banner, but outright contradictions seem odd.
