Anyone managed to defend against a siege attempt?

Whether it's supporting a claimant or my own kingdom, I can't seem to get enemy factions to lay siege on my town/castles. I got the Swadians -79 and Vaegirs -82 but they only attack me if I'm in the open field. I changed the AI max party size to be several times larger than normal but they still won't besiege me.

This is for 1.011.

You probably aren't hated enough to get the attention of large parties.  Single lords are unlikely to siege and actually attack, only when the marshals for a party does anything happen.  The more you are hated the more you'll be attacked.. I get sieged every single time and if I actually wait inside the castle or city they do attack.

if you have 100+ soldiers garrisoned in your castle along with you and your personal army, you will be waiting a while for anyone to bother besieging you. i always rebel, so i leave 100 peasents in the castle and no one attacks it. too easy. you want to defend a siege, leave ten man garrison and you as number eleven  then you will defend a siege

I'm constantly being attacked by 600-1200 man armies, if not at one of my many cities with 300+ garrisoned it is at my one castle with 125ish... the other lords have this thing against me

Just wait till you regularly have parties of 600+ attacking your stuff (I'm a rebel).

I know what you're saying though.  I had a single lord that was going back and forth between Veluca and Jamiche castle sieging each one till I fought him on the field.

I have quite a lot of times when defending a castle went very very well. Was playing the imperial state in the eagle and the radiant cross however...
Have one particular siege that was extra satisfying, was very nice seeing my 175 men just shoot 800 men of the holy swadian empire to death
(would have been worse with the lion throne, because of shields)

Getting the enemy to attack a castle is very easy, actually. Leave only five or so guys inside, grab the rest and park yourself some distance away. The enemy will come and siege the castle, and since there's hardly anyone in it they will assault almost immediately. Even the few guys you left inside can buy you enough time to travel back to the castle with the rest of your army. The enemy will gentlemanly allow you and all your soldiers to pass inside in the middle of the assault, so you'll be able to defend with full force against them.

Attack the enemies villages (razing them) and after they've had enough of that, they'll go after your fiefs. They probably wont try to attack your castle if you're in it. Unless you have very small numbers (less than 50).

Rebelled against Sanjar Khan after taking a castle for him and he wouldn't give it to me. *pout* Harlaus comes ambling along immediately after, so had to try to defend it; seventy-some Khergits against over 300 Swadians. Won that, because I pulled my men off the walls, and had them standing in the courtyard; any time some twit poked his head up after climbing the ladder, we took it off. This is sometimes much better than staying on the walls, as you have an effective numerical advantage when you're all piled into the courtyard, and they're coming right off the ladder; five of them crest the top, and all of your guys unload on them. Obviously, they still managed to get into the courtyard a few times, and we took so many casualties that we folded like a wet cardboard box when the next, even bigger army arrived the following day, but it was still very gratifying to win against odds like that.

Of course, this did take several tries. For the one universe among the many of the multiverse where I won, my sorry hide was hung from the walls in a dozen others.

EDIT: Oh, wait, you're trying to get them to attack you. I can honestly say that I've never had the problem of them not attacking me, but I wish that I did.

Ah, it is indeed pure awesomeness to  be able to defend your own castle against a horde of enemies, say 1200 khergits with only 200-300 nords.

Trouble is when your archers run out of arrows.

In my latest game, I took a castle that I aimed to keep as my base for the current war campaign, 8 hours after I captured it I was sieged by 5 enemy lords so I just rested inside untill they started the real siege battle.

It was short and brutal, 50 my men vs 250 enemies. I had half and half swadian knights/crossbowline, knights standing top of ladder, me and bows on the sides. I don't think the knights got any kills, the xbows (and myself to very great extent) mowed them down from the sides on the ladder, nasty business. Then again the attacker was rhodoks so it was expected.

AI doesn't tend to siege you without a severe advantage in numbers. A single lord has I believe never sieged while I was sitting in a castle, it has always been a bigger war band. Sometimes you can manage to go help a siege in progress though. Siege def is pretty fun stuff
