Anyone Found a Way to Die?

I have heirs now and I've been actively trying to test the system and see if they can follow in my footsteps...

Problem is, I can't seem to get my character killed. I have enable deaths on now and I'm charging armies as a single soldier, but everyone just keeps imprisoning me over and over again.

I haven't died once in the 130+ hours I been playing, I wanted to do the same thing. There is a mod that will let you swap to your companions and play as them though, you could technically use it to switch to heir and kick your main pc from the clan and execute them (maybe?). Be warned though that it could mess up the main quest system if you care about that. would backup save and read the mod notes though if you're interested.

I've already done the main quest as much as it's implemented into the game so far. (I'm 110 hours into a single campaign.)

I figured out how to mod/cheese it. Installing the developer console includes a command to make your main character ill, and 2-3 days later they will die of "natural causes" and you can select an heir. Didn't feel right to just off my guy at 52 though, so I'll probably keep playing him for another 10 years or so and then kill him off and continue as an heir. My heirs need more skill points first. lol, I was just kind of curious if the system was built in yet, but it doesn't seem like there's any way possible to die naturally in the game as of build e1.0.10.

Personally I'd like a very small chance of dying of anything from execution to a critical hit to illness or childbirth. Small enough that you still have a good chance to reach old age.

I like the idea that you can die but I just want my character to live long enough to have a history and achieve something meaningful.

I agree. I'm noticing NPC's that are pushing 80 in my game now though, so I was under the impression that dying of old age wasn't actually built in yet?

You can die using the "cheat console mod". I was curious as well and did it. I made sure enough to age my son up and sure enough upon death I was able to choose a new faction leader. Its anyone in your family, of age.

Can you link a video where they show them aging into death? The only one I could find, the player was sick already at the beginning. (Probably console modded the illness.) I'm wondering if illness is already in the game and if it happens to the player at a certain age.

Yeah, that's the one I found. I believe it may be modded, because the character's health heart is green at the beginning of the video, showing he's already ill. But, the character himself looks old as dirt so it may not be. lol...

Maybe when I go to bed I'll start another save and just let it wait in town for as long as it will and see if my character dies or gets to be 200 years old.

You mean you've actually managed to get your children to successfully age?!?

Yes, after 110 hours played on a single campaign, I have 3 of my 15 children 18+ and in my party. They come out horribly broken though and require mods to fix them currently. See the bug report I made about that here, along with the workaround.

perfectly synched with the character's death: "Your party has slaughtered some animals to eat" I think I know what happened....
