Any way to encrypt Data folder files?

Is there any way to encrypt the Data folder .txts? I ask because encrypting certain of the files would increase the game's longevity once it goes to release. It's not a big deal since the game is single player, but once people figure out how to cheat, a lot of them will cheat big and then quit playing.

If the .txts were encrypted, cheating would be a whole lot harder and people (it seems to me) would be more tempted to create multiple different characters and progress through the content more slowly.

Nay.

Mod-ability is a good thing and the more mod-able the game is, the better. There's already cheats in the game so if someone wants to cheat, they're already able.
