Any suggestions as to a good FPS with plenty of mods and an active community?

Grandmaster Knight
The title pretty much says it all. I've heard good things about Red Orchestra, Unreal Tournament, and ARMA2 (I have a copy of the free version and it seems decent enough). I'm wondering if these games have an active community, and decent mods. I'm also looking for other games that fit the above criteria. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Darkest Hour for RO1 is probably still active, although the last couple of times I tried playing it I didn't enjoy it. Mostly because the maps there were being played just weren't any fun and partly because a bunch of recruits in the 29th server were acting like they were running the place because they had no superiors around and the community seems rather stuck up in general.

RO2 doesn't have any mods released yet but several are in development.

I've actually been looking at that for a while now. The idea of an FPS on skis just seems too good to pass up on.

Very. I don't know how populated the servers are since I haven't played in a while. But it was very fun on release.

Counter strike?
The title said good fps

The over 60k people playing it right now tend to disagree (and that's just for source). I know I'll be putting in a good bit of time once the new one comes out.

Lots of people play therefore it must be good.

WoW is awesome if you find yourself in a great guild, but he asked for an FPS.

Jedi Academy should still be kicking, at least Movie Battles 2 mod is. The game is great even without MB2 but I definitely recommend downloading that mod.

IMO

Agreed, that was overrated

Actually, I never liked the original point of Counter-Strike, I've always played the mods like Zombie Escape, Jail Break and Minigames! Counter-Strike still has a big community, and you don't need to download the mods, only the maps, that download automatically when you join the server anyway.

ArmA 2 OA is great only with mods and good community (and there is a good amount of serious clans), of course I find it hard myself to manage/install mods and join the community so I'm always falling out of love with it. But once you get into a group, it becomes very immerse and awesome. Plus the editor allows you to play pretty much any sort of Player vs. AI scenario you want.
