I used to but I keep getting banned for playing too ruff. I do have a lot of really funny stories thoe. I am not trying to brag but I am into WMA and most larp’ers are way too easy to cut down. The other WMA fighters I hag with totally out class me in skill (I am a completely mediocre swordsman) and I still hack my way through these people like Rambo fighting cub scouts. I used to belong to a group called the Free Companions (later shortened to Frequins). We started in the early 80’s and running our own games then got lazy, by the 90’s we would just mooch off of every one else’s (NERO, dragon claw, SCA, Quest, the list goes on). Last game I when too there was four of us against 8 man teams. So there we are walking through the woods minding our own business like barbarians should and an opposing team sees us and calls time out. They come over and start talking to us, hi nice to meet you, have you played much that sort of thing. They get real close and after a wile call time in so I say “are you shore, time in” and he responds yea. So we leapt forward and cut them all down. After looting their bodies we felt bad and bought them lunch at the tavern with their own money.
This Larp thing seems like it requires a lot of self control, I can't handle someone running up to me and hitting me with a foam bat, without badly hurting them.

That was my experience in amtgard. Someone would "foul" someone else so they would hit them back in the face or the balls then the ref would come and blah blah blah. After I quit, I would just get 6 people or so and hit each other until you got hurt to bad to continue. My best K.O. was when I hit my friend perfect on the elbow and it dislocated.
Foam bats were never so satisfying.

The title of that movie was right on.
I have some home made swords I like to use, along with wooden shields. None of this silly fantasy magic stuff. And it can get painful, like when your opponents and you clash shields and you get the end of a shield to the bridge of the nose. But what would really be fun is this:
