Veteran
I am playing the V4 and I have some problems with the Antarians since they don't have archers or crossbowman and shields.
Everybody say that they are great in siege, is that really true or am i just using the wrong tactics?
If I replace the javelineer for forest bandits (cheap but weak) can I take a castle easy?
The antarians have a very powerful armor, but they regular and veteran die very fast with siege towers because they stay in the same place receiving arrows in the chest, is it normal?
Can I make peace with other factions?

Antarians are strong and resiliant. Their lack of shields is a balance thingy. First, go for the ladder sieges (and get L&R siege pack) and counquer a bunch of castles (Vaegirs also have cities that have ladder sieges). Then, grab all of your lords and go rape someone with tower. You may lose 70 troops before launch, but you will have 530 more to go

the problem is the first city, I go with 50 antarian, 30 well trained mercenary and 80 forest bandits

I've found that maintaining a mix of other kingdom's soldiers is the key to balancing things out (even if they get higher wages).

Early on, I went out of my way to befriend the Nords (because I wanted Hurscals and them not to attack me) and attacked everyone one of their enemies carrying Nord prisoners.  I then hired them.  I also went out of my way to get Swadian Sharpshooters and eventually Khergit Lancers.  With 20 misc elite troops from any of the kingdoms + 20 Elite Antarian Infantry... I can take any Castle even if it's lord and army are present (granted I kill ~40 myself).

I took Uxhul last night with a army of 90.  I got a bit of luck in that though.

get some hired blades for first castle, not the very best choice (and pretty expensive) but better than bandits, first castle can be difficult (i had about 40 peasants before i got barracks)

danm this game is ****ing impossible!
I was playing with 31% difficult and i couldn't won a tournament!
they changed the troops or they are the same as in native?

The troops did feel like they had a slight bump in power in the first few weeks of game time (I'm about to feel the invasion on my first run through).  It's not an easy mod, but boy is it awesome.  Find your way man, the mid-game is a riot, and I expect the end-game to trump all.

I have played this game a few versions ago but many things changed, like the troop tree system (Antarian Noble*) and the kingdom management system, I am still lost but I will learn fast =D

Another question: Barracks > regular infantry > regular infantry*
                        : Practice Range > javelinman > javelinman*
                        : Stable > scout > scout*

How can I recruit and garrison veteran and elite units? ( veteran infantry/elite infantry - trained javelinman - cavalry)
I already tried to talk with the marshall, but he just upgrade to faith troops, so it happens automatically or I need to create an specific building?

regular infantry > regular infantry* > veteran infantry > veteran infantry* > elite infantry

etc...etc...etc...

Marshal + Barracks/Range/Stable + XP

Sorry, when you have upgraded troops to *, go to the marshall in a castle/town where you have built the appropriate building and ask to upgrade them.  They need to be in your party, not in the garrison.

Antarians are siege masters, I was amazed at how cheap and easily I could garrison castles/towns.  You can build up a large force quickly, and they will upgrade to elite fast enough, they are cheap and plentiful so you can just rush them up a ladder.

I did have some problems in siege towers though.  My solution was to take some heavier and shielded rescued prisoners to act as a front line and absorb the hits.  Mostly Swadian knights if I could find them, or huscarls, even some Rhodoks.  It is important to mix your forces with shields, archers, and some infantry in a siege tower event, when they go down (after the tower has moved) your reinforcements will be all elites and have quick access to help you out.

Thanks to them being insanely resilient, I don't usually have issues with sieges with the Antarians. But with the castles with ****loads of archers, I highly recommend grabbing some Rhodok infantry and just parking them in front of your Antarians. The huge board shields will suck up all the arrows, then your Antarians charge in.

The guide says that the marinians have the most powerful infantry but also says that Antarians have the most insane armor, both are true but I want to know what faction (marinian x antarian only) actually have the best siege units (without count bandits, native units in my party and mercenaries adding them, just the faction army)?

Marinians are ultra-rapers. They have good weapons with large reach and have more skills and proficiencies than antarians, but are only medicorely armoured. Antarians, on the other hand, have armour superior to anyone else and they just go chopity-chop on enemies. They are perfect for siege defense, because bottleneck filled with antarian elites is nigh unbreakable. Marinians also have better ranged units, their crossbowmen are really good, so I think theese factions are pretty balanced, so just grab what suits you better.

Once you get a little confident, I would suggest to take it up a notch and try playing with the other civilizations (with other strategies).  That makes the game more fun.

Marinians are nice, but they have two big disadvantages:

-No Shields / not much Armour. This makes them a huge pain in Sieges where Archers drop a lot of your troops even before they reach the top of the ladder. Also, I had a few battles against the Khergits and they killed me off completely too. Luckily I had some extra money from King Yaroglek to make Peace.
-Knight Chapters need to be build in Towns. You get Nobles way later in the game and with less amounts. That makes it a lot harder to get your Faith units, which you need as support in Sieges.

Their melee units are good and their Crossbowmen are nice with long range + capable of surviving in close combat, which is very nice.

The Antarians on the other hand, I've witnessed to be truly godly. As in 'Oh man. That battle went bad. They managed to kill off two of my units'. They lack good Archers, but you don't need those things any way  They do well in Sieges with Ladders. Their Nobles have Shields I believe, so you can get some defence against Archers. I didn't fight the Khergits though

QFT. So long as my army consists entirely of elite infantry, nobles, and faith troops, during a siege defense I might as well consider 5 deaths to be a devastating defeat. Once my army consists entirely of honor guards... well, let's just say I deeply pity the poor fools being sent to die on that little boarding platform of the siege tower.
