Well spending the rest of your life in jail/mental asylum isn't that attractive a prospect. So assuming these people don't believe in God (or hate God) they're pretty sure they're going to die and cease to exist or go to Hell, where they'd go anyway.

Anyway, it's always a shock to see stuff like this and it saddens me deeply that we must endure this in western society when so much violence goes on daily below the poverty line too.

And then people ask why there aren't any shootings in any other parts of the world. Because anyone crazy enough to kill lots of students can't get a ****ing gun. I'm not against guns. I'm pro guns. I'm against everyone getting them. Perhaps the system here's too tough but its ****ing effective. More or less. Apart from Dunblane. After which they tightened the law and nothing's happened.

They're simply scared of conviction. They know what will happen if they live, and they don't want that, so they shoot themselves.

Pity they don't do the latter first, though.

These people are no hopers, are they really gonna be able to formulate a good end to a life that's probably mostly consisted of failure anyway?

Indeed, it's probably as easy to make thermite as it is to shoot yourself. And the result is so much more effective with the former!

Still, on a serious note, we should probably be glad these people do commit suicide after going on their sprees. It creates a time limit in which they have to act. They only have until the cops might have arrived otherwise they might be subdued.
