I'm sure you've all seen the AI draw back to make a blow and then seemingly before their weapon is swung switching the direction from which they are swinging.

Is it possible for the player to do this? If it is, I haven't discovered how.

better way is to replace block with change shield (if you have only 1 shield with you)

he talks about the AI. And it is a wanted behaviour, since it trows off guard a human player who doesn't use a shield. I.E.: IA starts swinging from left, player parrys, but suddenly the IA attacks from the right and scores a hit.

It is called a "feint". I find it wonderful to have an IA wich feints.

Unfortunately, I find that the AI is too quick and doesn't get fooled by my own feints

The AI is almost always fooled by a player feint. You just have to make sure they're already blocking, then switch your direction quickly. The problem is, that there is no true feint button, so if you have a shield it no longer works. In which case the best feint i believe you can pull of is one in which you start the swing, then block, and switch direction very quickly and swing. Not quite as quick as using the switch shield button, but the best and only real alternative i think.

This sounds like a bug to me, will it be fixed in the next version? Changing shields to change the attack direction, that's clearly not intended.

I don't think its a bug at all. Its not exploiting or cheating, since the AI makes good use of this ability. Plus it's pretty fun to pull off, and makes combat alot more interesting when the AI does it to you. They just need to add a new feint button is all.

Feints are great... I love the fact that the AI actually uses its capabilities to some extent to make it more tough on us. I don't care if it is intentional or accidental, I just it to stay. Keeps me on my toes.
