Anime/Manga: Berserk

OK, i'm not really familiar with mangas and i normally don't read them nor watch animes. But a friend gave me the dvd of the anime called: "Berserk"
Goddamit... The ending was sooo ****ing horrible/emotional at the same time (andi didn't even said a word about the background music that seems to be named after the protagonist of the story)
Why... did it have to end so horrible? i loved the band of the hawk, and griffith, he seemed such a nice guy and yet in the end he... i'm not gonna tell, go watch/read it yourself if you got interested

anyways, topic to discuss about the manga/anime, your favorite part of it, etc..

Besides the Berserk manga is still on-going. I doubt it'll ever ger finished as new chapters are released so rarely maybe 1/month

That's not the end of Berserk, it's simply an end to an arc.

yes, i know, but still i think that's the most horrible piece of cartoon television i've ever seen >< xD

Aye, it is a wee bit of a mind ****, which is probably why it sticks in the mind. The anime, however, is little more than an abridged and toned-down version of the first segment of the manga.. which should give you some indication of how awesome it is.

I had the same, Hietala. I got pretty sad too when I saw the final episode of the anime.

There's a reason why it's in the tragedy genre of manga. And if you think that end is disturbing, don't even consider reading some of the darker mangas and especially not hentai. I though it was kinda annoying when I first read/saw it, but once you read other Japanese stuff it's like comparing Sesame Street with Audition. The series are very worth reading though, if only for the awesome masturbation scene far later, gives you a new definition of paraphilia.
