Animated battle standard

I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction here. I'm using the Crusaders Way to Expiation OSP to try and get animated banners that my troops can equip. I tried this on the basis that I've read that this sort of thing can be done with shaders, and the flags as made in CWE use a shader called "flag_veter_animated_items".

However, when I attempt to implement these in game, the flags appear completely static, without any sort of animation to them at all.

Is there some kind of tutorial for this that I can follow? I'm having a difficult time trying to find anything using the search feature, or even basic google-fu.

All help is appreciated.
 
You still need the mb.fx (I think) file for custom shaders to work. OpenBRF only points at the shader but does not contain the shader itself.
