ani_walk_sideways??

First off if I have posted this in the wrong place then dead sorry lads, I read through the board rules in each individual forum and after going from the apothecary to the ratcatchers, the pioneers guild, the forge, the pioneers guild, the cartographers guild and then back here for a third time I figured maybe this was the right place. I'm having a bug problem, but it's with a mod not the actual game itself, so I hope this is the right forum.

I have tried to play 2 mods, Southern Realms and Native Expansion (both of which sound absolutely mint by the way) and when I load up M&B with one of the mods it get's to that processing INI file loading screen, then I get an RGL error come up saying ''unable to open file: CommonRes\ani_walk_sideways.brf" and the  game closes itself down. If I run the game without any mod it works fine, and I have looked in the M&B  commonres folder and there is no walk_sideways.brf file so I am stumped. If anyone can offer advice I would be immensely grateful

i can't count how many times i've seen this exact post. use the search bar. theres loads of people who've had this problem theres bound to be a solution there

I did run a search to be fair, but the only stuff I could find hinted that I need version 1.011, which I have so I wasn't sure if there was another reason. But I shall have another. more extensive search, cheers.

This is the wrong board, but that is the only wrong thing this fellow has done. Tintin, how many times have you successfully used the search bar for a complex problem? If he has 1.011, than it must be something else.

i just seen alot of people with this problem so i thought if he searched he was sure to find the answer

I'd say try reinstalling the mods.
If it persists, I have no idea...

And Tintin the search doesn't solve everything.

Not the mods that have issues; it's your copy of 1.011.

Old thread, but whenever someone posts a problem, everyone always asks, "have you searched the forum?" By posting to a year-old thread I demonstrate that I have indeed searched, so there :p

I have just got myself a new laptop, the 11.6" 1101HA eee pc with
- 2GB RAM
- Intel Atom 1.33Ghz Z520 dual core, overclocked by 30%
- running Win XP Pro. All the service packs etc are up to date.

I have the gamersgate version of M&B1.011. It works fine with Native, but mods like Song of Taliesin get the error above.

Both core game and mods are freshly downloaded and installed within the last hour.

After Song of Taliesin gave you that error, can you still run Native?

Yes, in fact I tried to run Song of Taliesin first before even trying Native. I'd got the error on my old laptop, and was hoping it'd go smoothly on the new one.

Astorionar doesn't work, either.

Expanded Gameplay III and Timeless Kingdoms work fine.

i have that exact problem when i try to run Lords and Realms. it has something to do with that one file that wont load correctly or something. i dont know but i need help badly.  so if anyone could help by post or even msg me that would be great!

If I recall correctly you need to update to V1.011. You can find the link on the main site

Try downloading mods that give you this problem again and reinstall them. One of the possible problems could that some data was lost during the download. This is very unfortunate if the mod is large and you have slow internet or the only link for the mod is on the Mbrepository (is often quite slow).

It doesn't hurt to redownload M&B from the Taleworlds site. I gather you got it from GamersGate, right?

You do realize how old this thread is? This is back to the days of Tintin

It just proves that there are some people that know how to use search... or did you think that this puts it under necroing old threads? I prefer if people do this than the 100s of new threads every day.
