Small History

The Anglo-Zulu War was fought in 1879 between the British Empire and the Zulu Kingdom.
Following the imperialist scheme by which Lord Carnarvon had successfully brought about federation in Canada, it was thought that a similar plan might succeed with the various African kingdoms, tribal areas and Boer republics in South Africa. In 1874, Sir Henry Bartle Frere was sent to South Africa as High Commissioner for the British Empire to bring the scheme into being. Some of the obstacles to this plan were the presence of the independent states of the South African Republic and the Kingdom of Zululand and its army.[6] Frere, on his own initiative, without the approval of the British government[7][8] and with the intent of instigating a war with the Zulu, had presented an ultimatum on 11 December 1878, to the Zulu king Cetshwayo with which the Zulu king could not comply.[9] Cetshwayo did not comply and Bartle Frere sent Lord Chelmsford to invade Zululand.[10] The war is notable for several particularly bloody battles, including a stunning opening victory by the Zulu at Isandlwana, as well as for being a landmark in the timeline of imperialism in the region. The war eventually resulted in a British victory and the end of the Zulu nation's independence.

Some small thing to say: Tomorrow I've my last day school before one week holydays, this will mean that there in coding a lot of progress can and will be done. And I hope to do most things in this week. Here a small list I'll be doing. Afcourse things can be done when the Texturing and modelers are done with it. So just some points (afcourse there will be more)

- Putting all Scene props in
- Working on the classes

I know that you may already have the information you need, but if you need anyhelp on info about the zulu war please just pm me, I am pretty much mad about it and have done alot of reaseach. Good luck on it though I will follow it to the end!

Isnt it going to be kinda boring with only two factions? Thats why I liked the full invasion idea of it. How will you keep it interesting?

So I would say 1. Read the thread better,
2. This is just in development. After we started two days ago. So things can go on many ways, and we might add some more factions.

I don't think having many different factions adds much unless they actually have significantly different properties to each other. The Zulus will presumably be very different indeed to play as than the British or Boers, since the Zulus with have no guns (unless they are allowed one or two 'looted' rifles on the team). I have longed to see a mod on this war, I hope it turns out well. Can the teams be balanced so that the Zulus always get more men than the British? I think that would be better than searching for another way to balance the teams, like giving Zulu spears massive damage or making guns innaccurate/weak.

I was thinking of putting (if possible) the class system in. Like in MM.

What would balance it out more, if i'm right.
