I've played thousand hours on M&B series and I've played bannerlord around 34 hours already. (~25 hours on singleplayer)
I love playing tactical battles and bannerlord is quite good but i have some issues because in same cases bannerdlord is the same to previous versions in M&B series.
First of all, lords should have officers in their army to command their soldiers. Like in romans army, centurion is monitorating battlefield and he is reacting to situation, for example: useing shield wall when achres are shooting or useing column formation for moving faster. I know this is medieval period, but in medieval system of battle, there were quite simmilar metods of commanding. There where officers. The discipline should be in more elite units during the fight. In bannerlord, lord is useing formation only before the fight. Lords dont use formation in fighting with smaller forces. I see a little exploit because useing cataphract or knight in party where there are around 30 men i can easly defeat an army wich contain aroud 120-150 soldiers. In this case I can win this battle because i can kill units severally with my soldiers, and then i can kill fleeing units and battle won (Farming lot of renown.) In case where lord use formation i couldnt kill so much units because i couldnt charge on them without hight casualties. During the battle when th officer is present, soldiers should use formation and have dicipline in fight, but when he is down, the disciline in fighting should be lower, and be destroyed by casualties.
The second thing is style of fighting in battle formation. AI is attacking on random direcitions insted of atacking up and down, so their attacking is inefficient.
I propose that AI should have two modules, fighting one on one, and fight in close quarters in formation.
The last thing is fight difficulty. More elite units should have better fighting style and better blocking than peasants or recruits, in bannerlord the fighting style is equal (like in warband for istance), but diffrance beetwen those units is in types of weapon or armour. There should be three or four types of difficulty, for example: easy, medium, hard and realistic. When AI fighting for their live should trying to prevent die by blocking more attacks and forcing opponent to find better technique to win. I know this is difficult to do, but i think that in this game there should be higher difficulty for more hardcore players who want feel the real hard life in medieval era.
