I always pay careful attention to the details of current events going on around me.
I was roaming about as a free lance mercenary. I noticed the Rhodocks were pretty much at war with everyone, and making progress against everyone. With their vast expansion going on, they quickly offered me vasslage, but I wasn't ready or willing.
Being an old supporter of Old Zendar I was hanging around the Vaegir Kingdom. When I recieved word that the Rhodocks had captured the Nord King. Interested in becoming a free Master of my own estates, but with friends and allies, I decided to win the favor of the Nords by freeing their king.
I discovered the Nord King to be a prisoner in Jerobe Castle, a castle owned by the Rhodocks (taken from the Vaegirs), I plundered a couple Rhodock Carravans, used the money to upgrade my troops, and then marched on the castle, freeing the Nord King who's favor I quickly gained, and recieving my first castle and village. I was instantly labeled a Rhodock Rebel, but safer than usual, as my estate was far from the Rhodock realms. Though I did end up defending it against two subsequent sieges by Rhodock forces trying to to recapture it.
It was then that the Vaegir King was captured by Desserters, to which I quickly rushed to find the desserters and free the King, to which I did, gaining Vaegir favor. Once the Vaegir forces even helped drive the Rhodocks from my castle.
The Rhodocks would not accept a peace with me, they proclaimed me a Rhodock Rebel of course, so I began doing quest after quest for the Nord King, making my favor grow and grow with my Nord allies. I then took over another Rhodock Castle, this one, Castle Tehlog, was in the middle of the Nord Kingdom, recently taken away from them by the Rhodocks. Since the castle used to belong to a Nord Lord who was left possesionless, he would often stay in the castle, and in many occassions helped me defend it against Rhodock attempts to retake the castle. Having gained cooperative favor with the Nords I launched my attack on the Rhodock Kingdom.
My campaign went well, with only a few setbacks I took over Yalen, Jelka, and Veluca. I then proceeded to take over Calmar Castle and all the other castles, until only one castle remained, and that one was taken by the Swadians who starved Wunderlehr(sp?) Castle out. Within a few days the Rhodock Kingdom officially capitulated and was no more, and old Rhodocks Lords began to join other Kingdoms. No sooner do I defeat the Rhodocks then the Vaegir King forgets the debt he owes me and declares war on me, to which I soundly wipe out the Vaegir King's army that besieges Yalen.
I then discover that the contender to the Vaegir Throne is now living in one of my estates, Yalen no less. I wonder if he moved there after the Vaegirs declared war on me... knowing that I would be at odds with the Vaegirs and perhaps I would help him... or perhaps since my castle in Yalen was sheltering him (without my knowing about it), that is why the Vaegirs declared war on me.
---
My questions:
If there is no more Rhodock Kingdom, then why am I still a Rebel?
I can't seem to find the old contender to the Rhodock Throne, is there anything I can do with him, if I do find him?
Any way I can get Vassals?
I am already a Rhodock Rebel (even though there is no more Rhodock Kingdom), could I actually help the Vaegir contender... and how would that work? I don't really wish to give up my rule, such as it is.
