Am I the only one who uses default diffcaulty settings?

I started on that, but eventually when you get into the high 30's with killer armor the game gets boring. Then it's either hang it up and go to another game, or crank it.

Basically, if it's fun still, don't worry about it. It's your game right? Who cares but you what you set it to?

i'm on half damage to self and allies (which is a bummer when you get couched lanced), and AI on good, but that doesnt seem to make a difference...

I feel like such a noob reading posts here, with everyone set on 107% difficaulty

It's okay, most of the people who's posts you read saying that have been playing the game a year or more.

I've played for over 2 years, not constantly though. And since a few days back I've been using the default settings. I took the courage to change it to 80~ percent though!

It's harder than I thought now, especially archers when using Normal damage to yourself, a few minutes ago I was shot in the chest with an arrow by a khergit horseman, it did 41 damage and I was covered in mail/plate, with the default settings it wouldn't have done more than 5-10 damage.

I WOULD set mine to 107% difficulty, however I have an issue with my Options menu causing my game to crash. So I use the default. I've been playing since .751, so I do have experience.

I put mine on the lowest difficulty on early games around 100 days then I put it to max ( except battle size )

135% percent here.

Its not that hard really. Except fighting with a two handed sword against multiple opponents. Thats hard. And fun.

I tend to end up with it on default for ages, then i suddenly remember the settings are there and change them up to 107 for a nice refreshing new challenge. At higher levels you might find it fun to run around building up your empire, in which case having low difficulty will make this much faster, and maybe more enjoyable.
However, at higher levels you still might like to have the danger of being knocked out fairly regularly, in which case a higher difficulty is necessary... it took a battle of me, 4 companions and 25 swadian knights in a siege against 250 khergits to realise that only losing a few of the knights and all the companions meant things must be too easy.

I like to play all my games on the hardest difficulty and try and see if I can go on without having to quick save load every 2 min and still win. Mount and blade spanked my ass and set me running for half damage. But some time later I took Thir which in previous versions had horrible path finding and forced me to take it almost solo V 300 guys. At that point I figured that I should turn up the difficulty to full and have not looked back since. Something similar will happen to you at some point, you will not find combat as much fun when you can kill 50+ guys solo without even trying. Then when you restart on full difficulty you will have even more suprises waiting for you

Don't worry about it, I was at almost half that when I first started out. Once it got a little boring, turning it all the way up made the game feel like it was new!

Realistic saving increases the difficulty percentage by quite alot without actually making combat any more difficult, so 107% isn't necessarily that hard.

Really? it bumps the difficulty up?...ya learn something new every day.

only 67% here. normal damage to ally's...but still 1/4 damage to self...i REALLY need to change to normal so i dont seem to be a 100% victory guy.

hmm.. thts weird, my difficulty settings is always above 100%
and damage is always full damage, both to me and allies
whats the default anyway?
i only changed the difficulty settings except to manual blocking and using battle sizer changer.. except once when i as level one, i put AI to poor so i can solo sea raiders faster, and get the loot, then change it to good again

I play at maximum difficulty with most of these rules (with the exception of playing in FPS) because I'm a total masochist. Technically, the difficulty is set at 97% (minus realistic saves), but this is only because I like to explore dialogue paths I don't intend to actually take. I've never copped out, and I delete my saves when I get knocked unconscious by anything other than a blunt weapon (for real).

It can get pretty frustrating, but it yields a really intense gameplay experience. There's nothing quite like being outnumbered and wounded and still coming out on top with the knowledge that you really did just cheat death.

Your not the only one Im on 54 % so no cookie for me
But when it gets too easy 85+ % difficulty...
Wont affect retirement though...
