They are easy fluff to throw into a companion army or castles
In my view they can add what they want. Guitar hero, barber, monkeys, circuits, dance contest, hunting game, sauna.. customizable troop tree, but all that wouldn't change the game mechanic. So in my eyes it is useless code, just filling space on my hard disc.and this is where the community diverges between wanting additions of features that are not necessarily useful and that would make the whole thing unbalanced but fun.
and those who want balancing everywhere.
I want to say that we forget that we are talking about the single player mode, we are a player against an AI it is already unbalanced in advance, I think that the balancing does not have to be taken as seriously as on the multi, because at this time we do not add anything
and then making your own troop tree isn't that pointless in strategy when you think about it.

A customizable troop option wouldn't unbalance the game, in its current state. If you could decide how smart your troops react on the opponent, that can be called "unbalanced". Clothing and stats are nothing compared to the option of changing ai behaviour. Just an example.
the way the game is setup I'm already betting on some features that will certainly pop up with mods, like troop customization, culture customization, etc. I still think that the map is too small for what the game is trying to achieve, but that's due to the new village mechanics, in fact, that's one of the major issues with BL because it cuts down on a lot of factoring elements when it comes to army strength and noble stakes. Villages are just a ornament, it gives virtually no wealth, if it's raided not much changes, if you boost it to whooping 700 hearths, nothing changes, there are no significant mechanics around them except for the random "noble troop" which ends up being more a pain in the ass than a feature or useful tool (too rare to make significant army composition, and too fragile to survive leveling grind). At the end of the day the best way to get noble troops is by having the "convert criminals to troops" perk, and farm bandits, anything else is sort of a waste of time.yes the customizable troops are little useless in the gameplay, as for the creation of character (except the choice of stats of course), the personalized banner, the name of the kingdom etc. yet everyone is happy to have them, and to share them

Are you saying you'd be fine if there were no character customisation aside from stat numbers, no custom banners, no custom stuff like that? You make these things out to be 'useless', but do you even know what an RPG is all about?yes the customizable troops are little useless in the gameplay, as for the creation of character (except the choice of stats of course), the personalized banner, the name of the kingdom etc. yet everyone is happy to have them, and to share them
this game isn't an RPG, it's a Sandbox. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is the eagerly awaited sequel to the acclaimed medieval combat simulator and role-playing game Mount & Blade: Warband. Set 200 years before, it expands both the detailed fighting system and the world of Calradia.
But TW says on their Steam page it´s a RPG sandbox game?

I still say that these elements are useful to gameplay if the game even wants to pretend to be an RPG.you did follow the conversation badly, I took these examples to say that indeed they are not necessarily useful for the gameplay but it remains useful in the sense that a player will appreciate having these elements of personalization
