Recruit
Hello
I am new to this mod, and I find it a bit difficult...
I dont know, maybe I am doing something wrong but it is quiet difficult to start in it...
I have 20 recruits for example, yet the weakest enemy's I find are 19\20 Outlaws
And they are quiet strong too, trained swordsmen and bowmen, and crossbow men
my recruits have no chance, and after they are butchered I end up fighting 18 Outlaws alone
which as you may guess, ends up in tears...

Any tips?

Spend some time practice-fighting in the arenas of towns to gain skill and experience.  Consider raising your training skill to make your troops upgrade faster.  Try finding smaller parties of Outlaws that you can overwhelm with numbers.  Use a horse and lance to reduce enemy numbers before your recruits get to them.  When up for it, join a tournament for a chance at large sums of money -- should be smooth sailing from that point on.

Hope that helps.

As in native, I'd recommend to start by zipping around Caladria until you have a (almost?) full(?) compliment of companions. I settle for 8. They are the same as in native, except for a couple changed names. The companions have improved starting equipment compared to native, and you can send them to suicidal attacks since they never die, so that should help alot.

With the starting equipment and a lance it's not impossible to take out the groups of 20 outlaws/brigands/scorchers yourself, but your odds improve alot if you steer clear of the pikemen. Ride around the enemies until you can pick out all or most of the others in lancing charges, then charge in your companions once they are no longer outnumbered.

Invest points in prisoner managements, use a jousting lance, and give your companions blunt weapons, to more than double your cashflow on slave trade.

Even if you use a line of recruits, put them on hold, and let the enemies come to them. Crucially you should ride into and around the enemies while they approach your battle line. Even if you just keep your shield up and never get close enough to attack, you still disrupt the enemy group, making them scatter, and be picked off as they attack your battle line one-by-one. Only works if the enemy doesn't have much cavalry, of course. If they have too many archers so that your horse gets shot from under you, keep a good distance as you ride around and watch them waste their arrows/bolts.

I only start recruiting once I have 4 points in trainer, and companions should also aim to get trainer up immediately. Trainer and party skills are their main purpose. This way you can turn recruits into deadly soldiers in just a few days.

Thanks for the tips, I am level 10 now but lost my entire army (siege defense failure)
The tips are great but I cant use pole arm weapons, I dont know why but I keep missing with them
cant hit anything... unlike 1h weapons where I hit everything and everyone... =\

Then y're doing something wrong with the polearms

Use them when mounted, and do just nothing than riding towards the enemy. No mouseclick! Everything is automatic. You just need a minimum of speed and preparation time. Ride a bit left towards the target, so your lance/pike/spear will touch it.
Without that it's nearly impossible to handle the 64 marauders (former bandit lords).

And yes this mod is supposed to be hard. And its especially at the beginning.
