Alright, so someone please tell me that Microsoft changed the layout of Windows again, because I just redid my computer, and upon first inspection, something looked strange. I quickly realized that the spacing between each icon on the taskbar, desktop and menu was ****ing epic to say the least, and buttons were huge now. No, icons are not bigger, I checked that they were at normal. And no, resolution is not lower, still 1280x1024. It looks like someone took all the icons and just scaled them up 200% too, because they're blurry as ****. See for yourself.

Do you see the size of those goddamn X's?! That's not right. This is the cherry on my ****cake of a day, so please tell me I did something wrong in setting XP up again in haste and tell me that it's not Microsoft being straight up ridiculous again.

Edit - So that pic doesn't really show off the blur so well, but I preserved some pics from before I redid XP and found this -

There are a few noticeable differences there, the size of buttons, actually the size of everything. Pretty much everything is just scaled up.

Mines fine. But I really can't see anything wrong with yours.
The first X is too big, but in the second screenie it's not.

Fonts are set to big, no biggie. right click on desktop, properties, 4th tab and fonts at the bottom.

Yeah, the second screen is from before I redid XP, and because photobucket scales down pictures from whatever to 800x600, it kinda fixed the blur, but the spacing is like double what it should be and everything just looks bigger. Compare the text on the top of the browser in the first pic to the second, the size of the tasbar, just everything is bigger.

Edit - and naw LL, checked that straight away, it's at normal (lowest possible).

The only thing I can think it could be is the DPI being increased. Check desktop properties, settings, advanced, under general tab, where you should be able to reduce it.

Is it like this all the time or just after you stopped playing a game.

Sometimes when i play games and alt tab or quit out, the computer gets ****ered up a little bit.

Other then that, it looks fine.

No, I just redid XP. And it does not look fine. Just look at the size of the top of firefox, the fonts, the buttons, the task bar, everything. I don't want to have to do XP again

No dice, it's at 96 and putting it at 120 makes it so huge I want to shoot myself.

I was actually thinking of the custom setting, which allows you to make it smaller, as small as you want.

Ah yeah there we go, thanks Oub. Saved me from having to go through that setup **** all over again, you're my hero <3

No problem.

(I'm actually quite proud of this because more often than not I'm useless when it comes to technical stuff.)

You silly people with your normal eyesight. I'd appreciate my icons being that bloody huge. In fact, I'm going to change them now.

How bad are your eyes?

What's 20-100? We have like +4 or -2 system here.
In the US, the first number is always 20 (unless you're talking to a total ******* and he wants to use 40 or something for no reason, you do get those sometimes) and the second number is the one that changes. It means, in my case, I have to stand 20 feet away to see something that a person with normal vision could read/see from 100 feet.

Right-click on desktop -> Properties -> Appearance tab -> Advanced button -> click on one of the title bars in the example window, and reset the size to the default 24, or 22 as I prefer.
