I think it's more the departure of many memorable 'respected' regulars than the influx of twats.  There will always be twats.  I have been missing some of the old personalities lately, as I read through the drivel and silly arguments, quote wars, and college kids with their new-found 'intellect' needing to show off their new adult 'awareness' and ability to exercise formal debate techniques.  Meh.

But I've been around since '05, lurking for over a year before jumping in.  A lot has changed.

I liked the folks who were just themselves and had character in that.  They didn't try so hard; they were just cool.  Locke, Redcoat, Llandy, Bulle, Kobrag (yeah, Kobrag), Nash, Corvus, Lep, Yoshi, GCulk (yeah, GCulk), Llamb, Pav ... these are just those that come to mind a moment.  There were a lot; now, seems there are few.  Some of these come around still but not as often as before.  So, I'm not here as much anymore either (not that anyone gives a ****).

Oldies are more dickish now?  Hmm, didn't notice that, except for maybe Swadius (  ).

Surprisingly TDM and I joined within days of each other....I was around the mod forums and discussion forums lurking for a bit...and then I find OT, which is mostly what I do on forums, to get away from the boringness of game threads...

yah, '08, I wasnt really "active" per se, just looking in mod forums and trying out different mods, commenting occasionally. Ive been playing since .088 or whatever the one before 1.0 was(mind is fuzzy), then I decided to join the forums once I found out I loved M&B.
