Allied Archers

Why are allied archers so hesitate to shoot? I was playing The Last Days mod a while back and my 30 bowman took 17 losses against 8 enemy archers, because they'd shoot perhaps 2-3 shots while the enemy would fire their full 8. They usually just sidestep back and forth in a clumped up mass while the enemy is able to form a perfect line. What gives? I was awed the first time I rode into a row of enemy archers 40 wide, but I can't seem able to work out that line for my own troops

Try ordering them to charge, that usually gives me the result that they go to a range from where they can shoot effectively and then form a somewhat line-looking formation. And start shooting.

or you can just wait a couple of days till the big A gives the new patch where also the AI will be improved.

Isn't that coming in the patch after the next one?

I don't really see any reason why they would leave a small AI update out of the next version. Archers should automatically line up, wether you said them to halt, follow or charge. Melee troops should automatically stay out of their line of fire, when no troops are nearby.

i really think it will the THIS next pope, but than again we're far away from even the complete Version 1.0!!!

My archers always do that...

i just fond another way out, order them to follow you then on a suitable spot order them to hold position, if they must stay at one place they will use there bows instead of going to melee range and get slaughtered there.
