This is the update log from 1.5.4 , but now all troops are old man with white hair and beard , also they are very fat , I think there must be something wrong .

Yeah look's pretty medieval the armors set, Imperial doesn't look Byzantine, looks pretty decadent.

I agree - the weight and build on these troops need to go down, as does the age.
To be fair, the Empire in the era of Bannerlord is a declining power and unable to afford the best of equipment, save on a few elite units (such as their elite Cataphracts). In a sense, it is facing the kind of decadent decline that faced the late Roman Empire.
