Hello everyone!+

I own the fiefs of chide, saren and pagundur and just recently noted they were ALWAYS poor. it seems every village awarded to me becomes poor and I dont know really what to do about it. and dont reply with "use xxx mod" because I want to finish my first game in native.

I think the best you can do is doing the grain/cow quests and making sure they don't get raided/make sure the farmers can get to the cities.

You'll need a degree in village management from the university of Praven.                              <- Joke

From my limited understanding of the coding in the game and my slightly less limited understanding of precedence within the game, it seems that the more money the village elder has, the more likely the village is to become richer. Dumping money into the elder seems to help.

Dumping money into the village elder would seem to be counter-productive though considering the small amount of income you get from villages to begin with.  Overall your pretty much screwed because villages do not change prosperity very much which means if you get rich ones you can do nothing and they will produce a ton for you (mine get looted, raided, burned, abused all the time) and still end up rich when they arent looted.

If you get a village that has average prosperity build a mill. However, if it has low prosperity do tasks and make sure villagers are protected until average prosperity, because the mill has a 5% bonus so if its more prosperous it will become even more prosperous if its average. if its poor it will only gain a little bit of value.

The mill increases the ideal prosperity of a village by 5% - the prosperity that a village will naturally drift towards in the absence of outside influences. It shouldn't matter when you build it.
