All companions are evil

Firentis. Murderer. You murdered your own brother and joined me only to murder others.

Matheld, you are no better than Firentis. You only joined me out of greed for power, hoping to use my army to regain your land.

Ymira, you're the worst of them all. You pretend to be innocent yet you are willing to leave troops to die to escape battle. Whether you do this out of fear for your own hide or out of love in hearing screams of death around you, I do not know.

Nizar, driven by greed for fame, riches, and women, you would sooner betray me if it would make an epic tale to sing to women in taverns.

Lezalit... one of the rather strange companions encountered. Do you ejoy whipping men? Do you enjoy flogging men? Do you enjoy seeing naked men tortured? Whether you are a closet homosexual or taking revenge because you was whipped and flogged as a child, I do not know. I wouldn't trust you watching my back.

Bunduk, you try to escape authority wherever you go. You'd rather have comrades die than follow military orders. Your selfishness to appear manly makes you untrustworthy of anything. No, you are no man.

Alayen, in the name of chivalry, you slaughter men and women indiscriminately. Does being disowned by those you love cause you to hate others so much you are willing to sell your soul, even when looting villages?

Jeremus, you have no family, no courage, no combat skills. You cling onto the belief that you are a philosopher and excellent medic, but no, you are far from that. You are broken and only joined my company to compare yourself with others, to persuade them to think you are intelligent, out of self insecurities. I only allowed you to join me because I respect the elderly.

Klethi. Thief. Murderer. At least you're honest about it. Does growing up with rodents make you dislike humans? You pretend to want to help Deshavi, but that's just an excuse to kill more. You'll probably betray me if someone offered you riches.

Marnid, knowing what it's like to live poor, you are driven by greed for money. You joined my company for riches, even if you have to slaughter men and women alike. The only reason you don't agree with robbing villages is because it reminds you of painful past events. Events you wish you forget instead of overcoming.

Borcha. Thief. Less honest than Klethi, you try but fail to hide the fact you wanted to steal a horse. You joined me as soon as you saw a chance to escape accepting responsibility to your actions. You dislike heavy casualties, only out of fear for your own hide. If others get slaughtered like sheep, it means you have to fight in the frontline, against more odds. You only want to stay behind the scene, robbing the dead when nobody else is looking.

EDIT:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Artimenner, perhaps once a decent man, but now an aging frail and fragile old man. You refuse to come to terms with the truth, that you failed to convince the noble lord your work will collapse. You failed as an engineerer to improvise with cheaper material when costs outweighs your budget. You failed as a man to accept imprisonment. You failed as a human being when you agreed to join me in return for easy money. You commited an evil act when you joined me as an engineer, knowing your incompetent skills will lead to the demise of many troops. On top of all all the above, you have a beard.

Baheshtur, a whining animal taken human form. Having murdered one of your own, you show no remorse and have a habit in eating raw meat; I guess that's why you're getting bald. Katrin is right about you... whenever you kill a man, you feel the need to perform a ritual to your cult God. You'd rather force a fellow comrade to die in battle than let him escape to fight another day, and after they die in battle, you pretend you dislike heavy casualties. You're always whining just because you're not fed. You care not for anyone save your own selfish desires. You sir, will eventually die at the hands of banana; your ego will stop you from listening to others when they inform you are about to slip on a banana.
--------------------------------------------------------

I spit on you all. None of you are any less evil than a mountain bandit or mindless animal.

I use them as I do with poison. They are dangerous to keep, yet effective if used properly and carefully. What else does everyone think about your companions?

You forgot to mention yourself - you give employment to that scum, which allows them to kill so many innocent people; you yourself, I bet, are the most murderous scum of the whole bunch; you also give employment to so many murderers called soldiers; and it`s your decisions as the leader of all that scum that cause so many innocents to die. Ergo, you should hate yourself the most.

Just another point of view...

I employ them to strip them of their delusions, to force them to realize their true wants and hates. I sacrifice myself so that they live their lives to their fullest potential, rather than live a lie.

Yeah, sure, everybody says that when they want to justify what they`re doing

i dont justify my actions, i mean, all im doing is putting people into comas so the soldiers cant kill them, and if not, i sell them to slavers, honestly would you rather be dead or working ?

my companion artinnemer (sorry if it is spelt wrong) has been extremely useful to me. i use him for everything that i dont want, eg engineering, looting......so that i can concentrate on the more important traits.

I prefer to be free than being worked to death. Don`t forget that in Calradia slaves go either to the galleys or the salt mines, in either case conditions are brutal and life expectancy short. If I had to choose between death in battle and death as a galley slave though, I`d definitely go for getting my skull split by an axe in some melee.

Like I said, when someone wants to justify the sick crap they`re doing, they find all kinds of ``humane`` explanations.

I don`t justify myself. I`m a bloodthirsty bastard, and if it wasn`t for the bandits and other soldiers to kill(I`m especially merciless towards bandits and sea raiders), I`d turn on the peasants. And I never sell anyone into slavery. If they don`t die in the fight, I just leave them be, whatever happens to them.

I sell bandits and other prisoners into slavery because if they are bandits, they kill innocents and deserve to be worked to death.  I sell the others into slavery because they are my enemies.  Selling slaves also gets me a little extra money.  One thing bothers me though, high tier troops such as Huscarls or Sergeants sell for the same price as half-naked-knife wielding looters.

EDIT: I use companions all the time, for skills that I don't want to upgrade, such as Engineering and the medical skills.

Ooh Artimetter, let's not forget that he did made a slight miscalculation that cost a noblemen's life before joining you...

it wasn`t a miscalculation in his case - he did warn the idiot that not using the proper materials will collapse the tower, and what he predicted happened.

I like that sense of humour

Firentis did not join to kill more, he joined because he thought he would be doing honorable things and thats what you tell him to get him to join you.
