AIs army just looking at each other?

So I just started a game and then enlisted in an army. THe problem now is that when the lord I joined went into battle he and the enemy just stand looking at each other. They advance but when they get just outside archer range they do nothing. Is there a fix for this? Because the only solution now is me going forward solo but that is like asking to get killed.

Yeah I guess they're "holding positions" waiting for someone to charge so they can kill him quick and smooth.
Now i'm not sure if you have a horse when you enlist in an army since I never enlisted in this mod.
Anyway my tactic is just to wake up the enemy faction, I make my guys hold position somewhere (on a hill if possible) then I charge to the opposite faction, start killing archers and elite troops (DON'T ever charge to a troop with a spear tho, unless you're a pro ) and then they start getting that something is wrong and start coming forth
