it´s not that they need it, it´s just that..well, they´re engineers, they should have engineering, it makes me uneasy to trust the building and operation of a siege weapon to a guy that only haves engineering 1 =P
That would be super easy to change by yourself with the troop editor...

Tibertus 说:You know, I was thinking, what might be a more appropriate siege engine for the Rhodoks is a ballista. It's very "crossbow-ish". It would be extremely accurate, and probably the fastest fire rate of the three other engines. Also, to the extent of my knowledge, the trebuchet would be the least accurate of the three engines you have now, but capable of throwing the larger stones farther.
Wow thats a lot of fixes. Can't wait to try it out! Also glad to hear you will consider adding more castle siege features. I read somewhere, I think it was the Barbarian Invasions mod, that they had a way to destroy the castle gates with a ram. Is that a possibility?Highlander 说:Bugfix available. Hopefully much more playable.
BannedWell when i capture a fief i try to give it to a lord but when i go to the fief management thingie it says i can only give it to my self.I can't reproduce the bug. For testing, I conquered 2 castles. I was able to give it do any lord of my kingdom.
What exactly happens? Do the other fiefs appear in the menu?

Are you using a previously saved game? If so, it isnt compatible. I had the same issue but I noticed Highlander say it isnt compatible with saved games. Start a new game and the items will fix themselves.

Not true according to wikipedia and multiple other sources: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trebuchet
http://www.prismnet.com/~beckerdo/other/trebuchet.html
http://www.medieval-castles.org/index.php/medieval_trebuchet
"Trebuchets were far more accurate than other medieval catapults."
"The mangonel had poorer accuracy than a trebuchet (which was introduced later, shortly before the discovery and widespread usage of gunpowder). The mangonel threw projectiles on a lower trajectory and at a higher velocity than the trebuchet with the intention of destroying walls, rather than hurling projectiles over them."
"A trebuchet works by using the mechanical advantage principle of leverage to propel a stone or other projectile much farther and more accurately than a catapult, which swings off of the ground. "
Multiple other articles and experiments also point to its high accuracy, so Highlander is right. I found it interesting to read that dead bodies and animals were sometimes flung from trebuchets into castles as an early form of biological warfare. Perhaps that could be one of the siege mode options if you have possession of siege engines. It could reduce the number of days required to "starve" a castle. This would also make a direct assault a less favorable option then it is now.

Tibertus 说:Precision would be a better term to describe the trebuchet. They are precise because of the mechanical indifference inherent in the engine. However, many trebuchets took a long time to aim in and get the trajectory correct, and once they were ready to go, they were not going to be moved for a while to target another building. Trebuchets were nice because once they were aimed in correctly, they could hit the same target over and over again. Based on that, I'd say other more maneuverable engines that fired on a flatter trajectory would have better accuracy when targeting moving objects.

Jackamo 说:I know this is a stupid post but, "They are frightened by their enemies"...Are you saying they are scared of their enemies or are their enemies afraid of them. Something more simpler would be " They are feared by their enemies" If the upper quote was intentional forget this post. B)

froggyluv 说:Some bugs to report but i must admit i didn't start a new game (enjoying too much) so that might be to blame.
1.I started my own kingdom and am at war with the Vaegirs but whenever I go into battle whom happen to use Vaegir engineers my on team attacks and kills them.
2. Same cross-dressing problem as Tommmy but probably because I didn't restart game after update
3. After giving a castle to one of my new Lords I noticed no Garrisson there leaving it totally defenseless when no Lord is there.
Keep up great work -really loving this!

froggyluv 说:Yeah your completely right.
I'll start another game![]()
