MP Medieval Age of Blades - AoE II based multiplayer mod

Hardly, as it's quite complicated to really help me gettin' further with the mod.
You need to be better than me in either coding or modeling+texturing.
If I have to invest more time to include someone's work than doing it myself it's pointless.

The first (and maybe only*) release will only feature Multiplayer mode.

*I have some serious problems with my studies and I can't guarantee anything.
Still at least the Multiplayer-part will get finished for you.

Well, actually, I don't quite agree with you on that point. If you recruit someone whose work is acceptable (still not better than you) and he/she helps you with non-esencial things (text, dialogs, repetitive coding), you'd be able to concentrate your efforts on the core stuff of the mod.

And of course, you could always recruit someone whose as good as you, or even better

Bolonsky's right. I have some thousand lines of game_menu-code that needs
to be ported to dialogs... so it's not really simple dialog writing and the structure
in the dialogs should be the way I planned. Hard to explain...
But as I'll rather focus on mp (to at least be able to finish anything) dialogs aren't
needed by now.
As soon as I'm done with all troops, people might help me with the
stats of armors and weapons and general troop-balancing.

I'd be happy to help with that. That's right up my alley, so send me a PM or something whenever you want assistance with that.

Perhaps you could make a list of assignments/to-do's and post it on the first page of this thread, so that people know how they can help.

News:

To complete the mod I need:

Models/Textures:
  -helbardier armor
  -longswordsman armor
  -champion armor
-paladin/chavalier armor (they use the same)
  -camel and heavy camel armor
  -chav. archer horse and armor
-heavy chav. archer horse and armor
  -archer armor
  -crossbowman armor
-special units equipment (but they basic units have more priority!)
-all armors should be heraldic and things like horses need to be in different colors

Scenes:
-only one scene is left (including monastery, market, university and blacksmithy)
  and it's already wip

Codes:
  -game_menus.py needs:
-function for monastery, university and blacksmithy (I'm not sure about them yet!)

  -dialogs.py needs:
-all the functions I added to game_menus.py (the troops already spawn correctly)

  -simple_triggers.py needs:
-researching technologies should take some time, like I already did it with buildings/troops

  -items.py needs:
    -all new items balanced

  troops.py needs:
    -all new troops balanced

Multiplayer:
-(at least) two factions should be available (only AoE-troops)
  -Menu should be the following:
    -Choose Faction/Culture
-Choose Building (Barracks, Archery Range, Stable, maybe Castle)
    -Choose Troop
Militia(free), Man-at-arms(500g), Longswordsman(1000g), Two-handed Swordsman(1500g), Champion(2200g)
Spearman(500g), Pikeman(1000g), Helbardier(1500g)
-no option to choose equipment (as it's bound to the troops)
-working heraldy (right now I have an "everything's-black-issue")

Singleplayer:
-a lot of bug-removing, when thing's get tested
(e.g. I found out that enemy troops can take your AoE-town without battle, etc.)

PS.:
I'm quite sure to completely retire from the forums soon as I
recognize that I shouldn't have time for the forum and modding at all because of my studies.
If I retire, I will somehow continue the work on the mod and upload it as soon as it's done.
Thanks for understanding.

Albertus Magnus

I don't understand the reason (if any) for the Permanent PostingBan. How will he upload anything in the future?

Nevermind... good luck, Albertus!
