i like your colour most but i think it should be a bit less wine like, maybe make it oily, but it deffinatly should be quite dark

btw good luck on the mod i would love to see it (im an addict to anything post appocaliptic like made max and fallout)

edit: oh a cool weapon would be to have a round stop sign with sharpend edges as an axe and a stick plus a stick with a knife or summit on top, oh and dont forget the two handed plant with optional nails hammerd in for extra jab.
 
here's some ideas for head gear:

took (canadian style :wink: )
baseball cap
wrestling head gear
boxing head gear
constuction hat
football, hockey helmet, goalie mask

that was just some quick ideas. I'm gonna look through the posts here and start some models going. Still need someone who can do some texturing for the pack... of AoA stuff
 
Leodan, you'll be adding troops and items, right? You might want to update the scripts with those rather than the Unofficial Editor, or perhaps in addition to them. It's easier to quickly edit them in the Unofficial editor, good for testing, but those changes won't be compatible with scripting changes. When the script needs to reference troops and items for various reasons, they must be available to the script rather than in the end text files only.
Some of the Python script files are easy to change and require no scripting ability, such as the troops and items files.
Also the script changes will be easier to update to new versions of M&B.
 
Can't we just have blue sky and "blue" (=nearly 100% transparent) water? The coasts could be oily though.

i think we should have 2 different types of mutants, the scavs (or some other name) are ones like you describe they are an npc faction whilst mutants are still quite human but with mutations such as stragely coloured skin, scabing around the eyes wasted limbs and bodys etc
Aye! Like FO2 ghouls. Shot on sight by prejudiced wastelanders. Not a "race" per se but a group of differently mutated people with relatively sane minds.

Heh, actually there aren't such graphics in the game that I remember. It has a fair amount of dialog along those lines though. You can get an "attended" bath at a starting bathhouse, and later in the game you can become a porn star if you meet some difficult requirements. :smile:

BTW. are special encounters possible? Would give a nice FO touch to the mod. :grin:
 
just a quick question, where do you plan on setting this mod?, cos america is too big and mainland europe would leave edges cos its also huge. I recon you should set it on an island like australia or the uk or any other island as long as it isnt ireland.

I like the machete idea, too. Partly because I've used one. They are very light, decently flexible, and a rather dangerous weapon to anyone who would want to use it that way. It's speed rating would have to be high, and it is also pretty long. I've also never seen a stainless steel version. As far as I know, they all look rusty.

So, when do you need the map? I'll get it in as soon as it's needed.
 
the island idea may be good, or at least on some unknown coast. there could be a dead zone off to the other sides that are not physically crossable...

ok, back to modelling...
 
I'd go with some well known area. It doesn't have to be an island, Fallout wasn't and noone never complained about map ending (at least I never heard anyone complaining).
 
Make water a blue with a dirty tint. Water is not "infected" with radiation - water doesn't become radioactive, radioactive things land in it, and you intake the things. So water doesn't change color. If you want to make a slightly greenish tint to the blue, that would be good. It definately would not be clean, and I imagine coasts would be downright filthy.

Worbah: the almighty PIPE RIFLE? That thing kicks ass... it's a pipe tied to a stock that shoots a single pistol caliber bullet at once. It's the first gun you get in Fallout 2.
I imagine the futuristic-ness should go as far as Fallout, but with less energy weapons. Fallout had tons of pulse rifles, plasma guns, etc., they were just hard to get. Real hard (unless you used ****ty walkthroughs that tell you how to make tons of money in the lamest method possible). I like the way they gave all the "modern" guns new names as if they were updated from the old versions, except, of course, the classic Desert Eagle which they put in. I.E. the P90C or whateverthehellitwas.
Also, ever heard of Warriors of the Apocalypse mod for Half Life 2? You could get some "inspiration"(wink wink, nudge nudge) from them if you need. If you play Half Life 2 and are interested in that mod itself, it's not dead, all the updates are in the forums.

You're missing my point, if Ireland is used, the map can be a lot more detailed, whereas if Australia is used, it won't be as detailed.

Much obliged Janus, and I put you next to scripting because even though you're doing support scripting I found it a bit simpler to just place you under that category.

You mean pipe rifle? Anyway, would be nice to have some "pistol/revolver-rifles". Basically pistols with extensions.
