'Adopting' kidnapped girl into party

Yay! Good news thread, thanks folks   I was wandering why the quest title was still up, it means I can go back and rescue her all over again. More to the point I can go back and get ALL MY STUFF BACK!! I didn't mind the boots so much, but losing the horse sucked

In .894, I grabbed the Kidnapped Girl from her home at Tihr and spirited her all over the map. By the time .900 came out, she was a lvl 16 Sword Sister with full plate, a spirited courser, a nice watered-steel nomad saber, and a heavy crossbow. She and Ymira (similarly outfitted, but w/ a bastard sword to match her higher strength) flew over the battlefield like angels of death. Not even Rolf could keep up with them.

Bottom line: K.G. can be pretty hardcore if you bring her up right, and is well worth keeping around. I hope armagan doesn't change being able to outfit her: nothing like a little Stockholm Syndrome to make the game more interesting...

After outfitting her with my finest, she was quite useful.  I eventually returned her, but when I got her again she was without the equipment I gave her (ingrate - she probably sold them for a pair of fashionable shoes), though she did have a heavy hunter that I did not give her.  Took it for my inventory just before I returned her again.  Much as she expresses gratitiude for getting her home, intuition tells me she'd rather be out slicing off Vaegir heads...

So the kidnapped girl is a... chest?

No, she's simply got an inventory just like any other companion. Rather than newly spawning it's the same character each time, so she largely keeps the inventory between rescues.

This is the first time I've heard of a "kidnapped girl", any screenshots?
Its a quest thats been around since the old versions, you can get it from the Guild Master / Village Elder, I do not believe it can be recieved as a quest from a Lord or King.

I tried leaving her outside town and telling the guild master that I couldn't finish the quest, then the "attack" dialogue came up for a second before she disappeared when I tried to get her to rejoin!

Besides, she stays as Kidnapped Girl, just kidnapped by you.

I have now noticed that third weapon disappears, but two weapons, shield horse and all armour seem persistent.

Kidnapped girl is awesome. She starts at such low level that you can actually control the direction of her level ups! As I already have woodsman skills, healer skills, trade and engineer, and training with my other characters (borcha, ymira, marnid, rolf) I get to devote the kidnapped girl entirely to one end. Horrid War! Strength and agility all the way. She is tough as heck now. A few battles ago she took out King Yaroglek, I was so proud. She currently has some regular hand-me-down armor from me (trickle down economics is alive and well in my party) and does very well.

Tip: Make sure you get the kidnapped girl from a city that you don't visit. For instance, I am a Khergit knight, and I got the kidnapped girl quest from Wercheg. That way I don't have to put up with her "thanking me for taking her home safely."

None of that for my kidnapped girl. Her home is the battlefield.

I got her again with my main character (0.894), and this time have avoided her home town (foolishly I got the quest in Tulga, and I'm a Khergit vassal ... DOH! At least I can go to Curaw if I'm that side of the map )

She's levelling up nicely (L16, now, IIRC) and performing wonders, don't think she's floored any kings yet, though

I'm turning her more towards horse archery, and upping her intelligence. My party already had most party skills covered, so she's now a level 5 trainer. Most of her weapon points have been earned the hard way, in the field, rather than handed out by me. It's good to have her along, especially since I "lost" Ymira by splitting up and never being able to find her since (something about not noticing her new hair-do, or forgetting her birthday, I think....)

I thought trainer was a personal skill  :???:
Do the NPC's actually train your men/women if they have training skills?
Please tell me that's not true - then I've spent too many of my own points on that

And yes, kidnapped girl is like a virgin. You can shape her in any way you want.
Tell her what to do - and she does it. She's the perfect woman warrior

Training is a cumulative skill (I think it's the only one).  Give one point to everyone (including KG), and you'll have 6 points of training.

On the bright side... come to think of it, if you've spent all your skills on training, there is no tbright side

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrgggggggg

I'm a bloody sergeant - And you're telling me now!

I feel so ...

Yep, she's the newest addition to my party. Can I keep her? Can I? Can I mum?
I remember someone suggesting that you could have a dog with you

They should really give her a name...
I tried giving her a 'new' name but it can't be done  :???:

Interesting idea.  A wife would be a nice touch, she could do some minor healing, act as a small scale gardener/trader, or even join your party as a sword sister, etc.  Worthy of it's own thread.

I think I've seen the beginnings of this in another mod (751 or 80:cool:, but I don't remember which (could be another game entirely).
