'Adopting' kidnapped girl into party

I cannot recall having seen a pair of panties and a bra in v.0.808.
I'm not sure the bra was invented at that time. I still go for ragged
wolfskin catsuite or something

Then I guess nothing has changed.
Let's just call it the 'bikini' feature...

I don't think you can have more than one kidnapped girl. When I rescued her she gained level three so I gave her two ranks of pathfinding and stole her boots. Next kidnapped girl I freed was level three, had two points in pathfinding and lacked boots. Same girl. Besides, you can only have one merchant quest at the time so the only way would be to wait out the time limit, pay the fee and then try to get the quest again. But it would probably cause the game to crash.

Yes, of course. Only one kidnapped girl at the time. But the funny thing is that she keeps the armour and weapons you give her so that next time you rescue a kidnapped girl she will still be equipped. And as far as I can see she also keeps the experience she might have gained. So each time you free a kidnapped girl you can get a pretty good fighter in your party.
A sort of ad hoc freelance hero...
NB: There must be some conspiracy when you keep freeing the same girl. I think it's the enemy paying the merchant to put you on a dangerous task hoping you get killed by the bandits. Pretty cunning I must say.

Are you sure?  :???:  I THOUGHT that was true, but then I could have sworn I got a delivery quest in the middle of a caravan quest.  So maybe it's "only one quest of any particular type" at a time?

In .808 it used to be possible to upgrade the kidnapped girl in edit mode, but this could be much more convenient.  She might be useful as another hero, being killproof and all.  Make her earn her keep!  I wonder if you can keep more than one?  Collect the whole set?

In .808, duplicates heroes just took more party space (counted as many peoples) but counted as a single hero for all other purpose ...

But I think Armagan may have ideas for the kidnaped girls

I did my usual hack to get 30 ymira clones to adventure with me....

And looking throught the files I found this:

* some quests to rescue many kings daugters, one per realm, and the queen also exist.
* there was a weird dialogue that seemed to be for someone important to join, possibly the king daughter...
(it did look like it)
* you can ask for the princess whereabout (dunno why it say king's daughter instead of princess)

Also playing with ymira's clones (I did gave them 30 different names) is quite slow... because they must fight river pirates a long while before moving to the bandits and sea raiders, and you're stuck on pathfinding/wound treatment/first aid, otherwise the other party catch up with you

anyhow... as a result my game is at day 300 or so and I saw stuff other peoples may have not noticed

Someone complained there was no "end" to the game...
Well.. this is not exact !

In my game, Rhudock conquered all of Swadia and one Kherjit town (with my help, because my own kingdom, Vaegir was in ruins... so I needed a strong ally to beat the crap out of the kherjit and swadian so we could survive the nord onslaught...)

Anyhow, Swadia is gone. the villages cannot be conquered, it still got some tiny parties on the map... weaker than river pirates... (almost)

Vaegir seemed to be climbing back with Rhudock help. But Rudock is neutral to Nords. So they won't help against King Ragnar 1200+++ army and his vassals leading armies bigger than the khergit king himself ! (poor guy is down at 600 after a few trashing)

All this to say I got something special in my character report. It show some very unique friends and foes you all might want to know about

Friend : Rhudock Sharpshooter !!!
You'll notice the Kingdom is "Rhudocks" as in "Rudock's"
I wonder if he led the peasant rebelion against the swadian or something...
and turn over the kingdom to his dear friend Gareth...

Sounds like we're getting some sort of Robin Hood

And The ENEMY: The Dark Knight himself

So, yes, they are  coming back ! And I think the black Kherjit are coming back too !

Wouldn't even be surprised to see undeads and necromancers

There is also a dungeon in every town, and something seems to be planned for them

Also you can get a town as a fief   I did !
Managing it isn't implemented thought... and like the castles you can't fortify them with troops...

I suspect the king's daughters and kidnaped girls (probably specific girls ?) is what Armagan aimed at about  more heroes... not just the 4 we have right now...

and jeez... there are 15 new skills slots... no single character can have all this...

I think we just saw the peak of the iceberg !

-----------------------

<<being killproof and all.>>

not exactly. right now there is a bug, and heroes don't show up unless you have troops. Also, they don't seem to want to fight in castle conquest, even if you got some troops. they didn't want to go up at all.

I played native, and in native everyone goes up in the ladder or siege tower. it's very streamlined, much better than .808. But the heroes don't do a thing... well, they did roll the siege tower... but that's all...

but ya, lots of heroes is funny, but when they are weak like he kidnaped girl and my ymira clones, they just create basicaly a peasant party... slow and weak. Got to watch out for those sea raiders otherwise you may never escape because they'l catch you right up until some friends help out.. if ever...

The only way to play a large group of weak heroes is lot of pathfinding, and uping the heroe's riding skill.

But err... defeating those new large group of river pirates has never been so much fun for me

That's what I hated in .808. Only 4 pirates against my 20+ refugees. they didn't stand a chance. even bandit groups were too small. it seems Armagan increased the speed at which they grow., within a day or two, it's done...
it's stable at arround 20 for river pirates and sea raiders... 20-40 for most bandits groups..

About the war ending thingie: when you talk to the traveler he gives info about the kingdoms. Among such info is the manpower of each kingdom (although it seems to stay at about 1900+ on my game), i guess thats why the swadian parties in your games are so small. Perhaps conquering towns and looting villages reduces the capacity to produce soldiers.

Yes it does, and it also impact the gold in the towns shop. Not sure what else. I'm not sure how the parties spawns. Swadia still control one heavilly entrenched castle

for how long I don't know...
currently Rhodock is busy fighting Kherjits
Swadia is attempting to rebuild but is stuck with the nords raiding the zone

I think burning villages and raiding caravans both impact the game. When I started to raid caravan heavilly, or even just tolling thing (taking a toll) the kherjit became a lot weaker, even more so than by looting villages

I got sick really fast of killing innocent peoples. there should be a gameplay penalty for this. in the real world, you became infamous and got niknames like "the butcher", even your peasants wouldn't like you and your henchmen would become less loyal, could even kill you if you pushed it too far. err the king could take notice too..

I mean, burning your enemy village instead of fighting enemy parties ? that's a coward tactic. bessides a burned village is not very usefulls

And yes, I know about the traveler, keep hunting them down. I got info on most kingdom, but not all are current.

I think the manpower start arround 2000 for all nations. swadia dwindled to 1200 then 800 .... and now, I don't have the current info... But Rhodock is abouve 3000, and the prood Kherjit were once at 2800... The last number I got was 2100 ... Vaegir is slowly falling. Was down to 1500 on last check. I would think it's still arround that range, thnks to the intelligent vassals. Some teamed up to raid caravan. I helped them and it trashed one big Kherjit army.

The king on the other hand... a real idiot... sieging Tihr... what was he thinking...

Anyhow, there is full details on my game story in the Rhodock thread

Rhodock got 6 towns and many castles to give you a hint. They got all of Swadia

going off topic guys.

i may sound like a party "stopper" but i think maybe this should be fixed in the next version? U know, that u shouldnt be able to use the kidnapped girls inventory...

also awsome idea about making her killable, that would make battles alot more interesting, tryin to defend a single person

yep, you can have many

but I think only one of each type at once

Sorry for going out of topic because of enthusiasm

but if you made the effort to read through it, you would have found some very pertinent info

and you would have realised it's probably not a bug

I think they maybe be intended to be replaced by individual girls

the noble women rescue quest (not fully there, but you can see it in the text file) does involve individal girls.

I definitively think that a lot of new stuff is coming up, and that this is not a bug, but rather to see how peoples will react to it. and how much effort it's worth...

there is definively something about that rhodock sharpshhooter vs The Dark Knight

if you think of it, those rescued girls are the ultimate "sword sisters". not only peasant turned into warrior, but real hero. but we'll see.

the text file are not that clear

in any case, Armagan did say something about more heroes, and I don't think he meant just 4

the injury system changed. if your heroes are wounded, the party travel slower.

Yeah i read through the thread, although i havent read through the text file yet, could you tell me what one it is?

I've heard people speak of this before, but i never really thought there could be much to it.

Although i do think you are right about the rhodock sharpshooter and the dark knight thing.. definately someting goin on there  it would be really cool to see a quest like this pop up in later versions!

...wait now im goin off topic

I believe he girl is running away to join the bandits  that is why it’s the same girl all the time. You get her back and she run away again.
I didn’t know she kept the xp and equipment, in 7.xx she was not recognized if she leveled up so you were unable to complete the quest.

Have to say, the skeleton in that castle make me think this could be true. I mean, why bother modelling a skeleton, otherwise?

In that case they've must've changed it. It was however a long time ago since I tried to take on a merchant quest while being on one. And I could've tried to take on a delivery quest while already being on one too of course. I don't remember the details.

It definitely works as described, the Kidnapped Girl works as a hero companion in all respects as long as she is on your party and keeps any equipment you give here when she goes away.  I doubt you can have more than one precisely because it is a single character.
