BL Coding Adding new weapons, armor etc

How easy is it to add new custom weapons, armor and so forth while still having good results in terms of how the soldiers use these new weapons? Combat AI is dependent on the exact usage of individual weapons - a long lance handles vastly differently than a knife - so I'm wondering what needs to be done to add new weapons without wrecking the AI and combat animations.

If you wonder about balance you can edit each specific item (armours / goods / weapons..) attribute one by one.
You also can modify each soldier equipment.
Apart from that, you'll need a 3D mesh, some good textures and a good sens of creativity.

Visit the community Modding Documentation for all the existing items attributes.

For now adding items in Bannerlord isn't really possible. (Waiting devs modding tools). If I'm not wrong you only can create new using current integrated meshes through XML files.
